1967 Camaro LS conversion project
1967 Chevrolet Camaro
Up for sale is a 1967 Camaro LS conversion project for an experienced builder. The conversion on this '67 Camaro started in 2002 with a wrecked 27,000mi 2000 Camaro SS donor car with a 5.7 aluminum LS engine, automatic overdrive trans and disc brake rear end. Comes with engine wiring and computer. The previous owner is a machinist by trade and put a lot of thought and planning into this project. Heremoved the front frame section and suspension from the donor car and carefully grafted it to the '67 Camaro firewall and subframe. He then mocked up the engine/trans, suspension and installed the 1967 front end sheetmetal for fitment. I included a picture of that mock-up. He then disassembled again, made a jig, to turn the car upside down. He started fitting the rear floor and frame section to use the original 2000 SS rearend. Life and health got in the way and he realized, after years of sitting, he was not going to finish the car. This would make a neat car when finished or the buyer could return it to an original sub-frame and floorboard car. If the car doesn't sell, in this auction, as pictured, I may entertain selling just the body, without drivetrain. The last pictures are '67 Camaro before conversion and the other 2 are of the mock-ups, making sure eng/trans and sheetmetal fit. Remember car is completely disassembled. I have a lot of the original '67 parts (not pictured) that go with this sale. Clear Oklahoma title in hand. Once the buyer has paid, I will store the car up to 30dys free.
