1950 Chevy Styleline Deluxe Convertible with Powerglide Red 235 CID/105 HP!
Of the 16 models and styles produced in 1950, the Styleline Deluxe Convertible was the second most expensive ($1,847) bested only by the Station Wagon.
Specs:235 cubic inch in-line 6-cylinder Blue Flame engine, 105 HP; Rochester 1-barrel carburetor; 2-speed automatic Powerglide transmission; 6 volt electrical; reinforced frame and coil spring front suspension.
Restoration History:"Big Red" was born in Kansas City MO, consecutive number 24367. Her early history is lost. Her original color was GM 425 Grecian Gray. Available history indicated that she resided in a garage in Tallahassee 1984 to 1994 before the previous owner bought her. In 1995 at 56,805 miles, she underwent an extensive mechanicalrestoration that included engine, transmission, brakes, wire harness, heater, and many other elements (complete documentation available). The current owner purchased her in 2013 with the odometer frozen at 67,000 miles.
The current restoration (Oct. 2013-Jan. 2018) was a complete body-off effort with complete disassembly with the exception of engine and transmission internal components which were not touched. Restoration maintained original specs and components whenever possible. The number of restored, replaced, repaired and repainted items are too extensive to compile. The following are major items:

  • Exterior and interior metal surfaces Stripped to bare metal, prepped, primed and painted with Urethane base coat clear coat (Colorado Red).
  • Lebaron Bonney complete interior, leather and fabric in original pattern and new carpeting
  • Frame sand blasted and powder coated
  • New convertible top with electric/hydraulic control unit, hydraulic cylinders and lines
  • All new glass, channel kits and weather striping
  • New or restored brightwork grill and body, chrome or stainless steel
  • New hub caps on original design pin-striped wheels

Other:In the last 5 years, Big Red has won at numerous local car shows including 2 best-in-show awards.
An estimated less than 1000 miles were driven since the completed restoration on 2018.
Extensive photo documentation of the 2013-2018 restoration is available.
A padded "winter cover" and the dealer's flip-through sales book are included with the purchase (estimated value $600).
