Description:

1959 Chevrolet Suburban

1959 Chevrolet Suburban. This vehicle is meant for an experienced mechanic/body fabricator. The body is in rough shape and needs a lot of attention. There is a lot of rust damage. The motor and drive train on the other hand is in much better condition. The motor, transfer case and transmission are out of a 1983 Chevy blazer. Motor is a 350 3 speed automatic and has been rebuilt with aprox. 15,000 miles on it with headers and an Edlbrock 650 4 barrel carb. Transmission is a 400 turbo rebulit with a shift kit and it has aprox. 5000 miles on it. Both axles are from a 1973 Jeep Wagoneer and has no damage as far as I can see. (One of the leaf spring mounts is broken) The tires were purchased and mounted in 2000 in Michigan. I then drove this truck to Colorado and parked it. They may have some dry rot from sitting in the sun . But I have never had any leakage problems all this time. The truck ran fine the last time I drove it in 2010 when I parked it in my back yard and took the battery out of it. Since then I have not tried to start it. It would take some work to get it running again but as far as I know it should start and run just fine. The steering is a little loose so I bought a new steering column but never installed it. It is in the back of the truck along with the front drive shaft, trailer hitch and a new motor for the windshield wipers. All need to be installed.I had this truck appraised in 1997 valued at $5775.00 with the paper work. These trucks are very rare. The appraiser could not even find it in any of his books. It is well worth restoring for the right person with the right skill set.
