1961 Chevrolet Corvette
1961 Corvette, 230 HP, 4 Bbl carb. Matching numbers original 283 engine and VIN. Owned and always garaged by current owner for 36 Years. Exterior color Ermine White, interior color Jewel Blue. 4 Speed manual GM transmission with 411 posi-traction rear end. Comes with excellent condition hard top and convertible top. Convertible top bows straight, top folds, stores and installs properly. The fabric top is slightly shrunk and has a 1” gap below rear window and body when installed. There is a 1” tear on both sides of the top from being folded and stored the majority of the time. Mileage on odometer is 17349 but not verified as actual. Current owner drove approximately 9,000 miles over 36 years of ownership.
The Wonderbar radio is complete but needs repair. Stock Corvette steel wheels, Firestone bias ply 670 X 15 wide white walls. Stainless exhaust pipes, mufflers, and hangers. Bumpers, bumperettes are professional show chrome. Front turn signal housings are NOS. All stainless trim is in very good condition.
Engine and bay recently painted and detailed.Exterior paint has two peel chips on top of driver side upper fender near door gap. Chip on passenger side fender lower corner forward of front wheel. There is a scratch in the paint below the right rear bumper.
Prior owner had fuel injection and installed FI script on fender. The original build was a 4 barrel carburetor. Under-carriage is in very good, clean condition. No smoke on cold start up and while running. Insignificant extended storage oil drip on garage floor from engine. All mechanicals in excellent condition. Shifts properly through all the gears. Very nice example and a great driver. Runs right with a strong original engine.
