This is a very cool little truck that is in unusually nice condition. It was swapped to a Chevy small block V8 years ago.
The paint is mostly original - it looks like everything other than the front bumper and roll pan are original paint. The interior is in great condition. The driver windows are a little noisy going down - it sounds like the rollers may eventually need to be replaced (a very common issue for GM vehicles of this era). Replacements are commonly available. The bed appears to be in amazing condition (see photos). The bed also has a nice tonneau cover that snaps onto a framework that supports the cover similar to what was used on the GMC Syclone pickups.
The Chevy Performance 350 V8 Crate Engine has aluminum heads and a Bowtie aluminum intake with a Holley 4-barrell carburetor. A Holley electric fuel pump feeds fuel to the carb. A GM HEI Electronic Ignition distributor provides the spark and cast iron exhaust manifolds fit the tight engine compartment perfectly, routing spent gases thru a dual exhaust system that has a nice rumble to it. A compact serpentine accessory drive packs the accessories into a tight space and provides room for the radiator and mechanical fan without any modifications to the core support. This is absolutely the cleanest small block V8 swap I have ever seen in an S10.
The tachometer is a bit awkwardly placed as it hides much of the speedometer and odometer. This is something I would change were I to keep the truck. The truck has been sitting for a number of years so the A/C will likely need to be serviced. Also, the tires may be flat spotted from sitting. The speedometer is not working. The truck has a Pioneer stereo - it looks like the speakers were originally mounted in boxes behind the seat. The connections are present but there are no speakers.
The original rear end was treated to a spool and a different set of gears. I do not remember what gear ratio the seller told me the truck had when I purchased it quite a few years ago. A spool is a little out of place on a street vehicle but it does ensure that it will spin both of the rear tires. The rear has traction bars that are clamped to the front of the leaf springs. This arrangement makes the ride a bit stiff but it does eliminate wheel hop. Please keep in mind this is an old truck that hasn't been driven regularly in quite some time. It should be thoroughly checked and maintenanced as necessary.
I believe the aluminum wheels originally came off of a 2WD GMC 1500 pickup (GMT400 platform) that used the same bolt pattern as the S10. They do kind of give the truck a sleeper vibe.
