1972 Chevrolet Van

This 1972 StepVan has been a responding unit with Explorer Post 85 of Westboro, Massachusetts since she was brand new in 1972. Post 85 is a chartered organization under Scouting BSA. For approximately 50 years Post 85 served as the auxiliary to the Westboro Fire Department, with high school aged youth responding and assisting at fire scenes with scene lighting, air pack refilling, rehab services and other fire ground tasks. Times have changed, and we've changed our mission. As a result, all our responding equipment and vehicles must go, including this unit.
This van has a 4 speed manual transmission attached to a Chevrolet 350 small block. The engine was a crate engine that was installed in the late 1980s. All pictured lighting equipment and attached tools can come with it.
The van is by no means perfect. She's 51 years old. There are several plusses and minuses which include:

Minuses include:* Tires are 20+ years old, but do have good tread* Outer compartments are rusted and will need repair* Unknown mileage on engine* Carburetor, not EFI* Brakes work, but leaking at the master cylinder. Drivable, but will need repair.* Interior cabinets will need repair* She's 51 years old.* The odometer reading of 8.4k miles is potentially correct. This vehicle primarily remained within town. However, we cannot confirm if the odometer reading is correct.
She would make an interesting project for someone to restore for use/show, for someone to make into a really interesting food truck or camper, or perhaps you just want her for the engine.
