Fantastic 4 door Chevy! Goes down the road like a caddy. Nearly everything new or rebuilt. I purchased in July of 2011 – completely disassembled- from a gentleman that had started a frame off restoration in 2005. I have his receipts as well as mine.
Some history: Alabama car sold in California in 2005 at Spa Resort Casino, Palm Springs Auction, which I believe is in California. Then to Illinois where I picked it up in pieces mid-restoration and brought it to Ohio.
My son and I built this car to look like your grandma gave it to you in the 1970’s. All restored original except for the dual exhaust, paint and wheels. I’ve driven it around, cruising, ice cream parlor, family gatherings. There are a few nicks here and there and one very tiny dent in rear quarter. Paintless dent removal said easy to fix but I’ve haven’t gotten around to it since it’s so small. The torque converter will drain down when not started or driven for a long period of time. The transmission was rebuilt 2x and it didn’t stop this. Car is very nice though. Personally, I would drive this car anywhere.
As with any car guy story, I have too many cars so a couple are going and I have to part with this one. I have other 55’s I need to work on.
