1992 Chevrolet Camaro b4c

Vehicle Details

This car is the holy grail of 3rd gen camaros.

A real camaro b4c. All 92s came with ILE as well. With the 5.7 auto. Total prod in 1992 was 589 which includes the 305 cars. Probably under 300 total built.how many left????

These cars were the ultimate sleepers. Built to be high speed pursuit vehicles and sold to law enforcement. This car was a Colorado state patrol vehicle. I do believe this car saw pursuit duty as although it doesnt appear to have ever been cut up for computers, radios, etc, it does have two tiny in dents on the roofline molding on both sides where there appears to have been a light bar installed. Additionally when I got it there were three holes in the headliner above the rear view mirror where there had been some type of small light bar or something for state patrol duty. I had the 3 holes professionally fixed and they are no longer visible. These were camaro rs models that were fitted with the best go fast parts chevy had in the bins at Van Nuys at the time. Z28 suspension, hd oil and trans coolers . Dual convertor exhaust, limited slip rear end, hd 105 alternator, 145 calibrated speedo, z rated 16s and more. Additionally in 1992, these cars came standard with the Ile brakes. A fantastic package with AC. Yes Ac. With the 1le package alone you could not get AC or rs badging. Rememember, these cars only exist as Chevrolet decided to go racing in Canada with Gm Motorsports in the players series in the late 80s. . The parts on these b4cs were parts specifically for these cars. Major difference is that the r7u players cars had sealed blueprinted motors and no Ac. Otherwise these cars are very similar.

Now about this particular car, I have just had a very top quality and serious paint job from one of the best paint shops in Phoenix. While at the paint shop, I pulled the motor and trans and had them both rebuilt. Also, had the rear end rebuilt. Put new correct exhaust as well. When I bought this car it had a salvage title. My body man said it appeared to have had a rear end collision at some time and was repaired correctly. Zero structural damage and zero rust. . Car has original engine and all original parts. Since my ownership I have gone through every syatem on this car and everything is working perfectly as designed. Everything. Also just had the wheels pro refinished. In doing some research the only other Colorado b4c I found also had a rebuilt title. Perhaps( I do not know this) the state branded the title when they sold them. Just a guess.

Again, most of these very rare cars were beat hard as marked police cars and not good cars at this point. This car was not beat up at all mechanically when I got it. Actually ran very well but I wanted to take it to the next level.

Its there now. I have had many 3rd gen camaros including a 90 iroc 1le that I ordered new and none are even close to as fast as this car and frankly with its state patrol pedigree not nearly as cool. For about 5 years in the 90s when this car was in service if it was behind you it was going to be a very bad day for you. And Ice cold ac!! I tried to order one of these in 1991 after I got my 1le and my dealer couldn’t place the order as there were supposedly big fines from gm if they got into the public’s hands. Police use. Either new gm/delco or rebuilt delco/gm parts. Also, it would be very easy to install a vintage mx9000 light bar and strobe and return the car to its police livery. I preferred to have it the way it left van nuys. . I bought and built this car to be one the best b4c cars alive.

Feels that way to me now. This is not one of the few very low mile cars that are not meant to be enjoyed. I had this car over 110 last week on the freeway and it rode like silk. Plz dont tell Arizona dps lol. Very difficult to find one of these cars that was not beatup and subsequently restored like this one. I looked for years. I believe this is the nicest restored b4c in the marketplace. I’m sure of it.

When you d rive this car it takes time to get the smile off your face. Car is bone stock except i removed the ashtray and installed the made to fit cupholders. Additionally this car came with a non cassette base am/fm radio with yellow print. I have been looking forever and can’t find one so the correct am/fm yellow print radio with cassette has been installed. Looks great.again, in my humble opinion this car is the holy grail of 3rd gens.all néw 1le brakes and rotors last month. Any questions please ask. I’m very enamored with this car and hopeful to find a like minded new owner. I have enclosed a picture of what it looked like in 92 in state patrol livery. In summary, this car is fantastic.
