This is an authentic highly sought after early GM “Roundeye” 4x4 crew cab and not a converted 2wd truck. A truck in this configuration of year make and model is arguably the rarest of the squarebody era GM trucks, it is a fact they simply built less 4x4 crew cab duallys pre 1980 than anything else. This truck is additionally equipped with the upscale Silverado package, a factory Tachometer. With these early crew cab 4x4 models fully restored bringing 6 figures, an example like this is an appealing and affordable candidate to be restored and enjoyed. Its hard one to duplicate many trucks have been modified to imitate, but after 44 years original 4 wheel drive crew cab dually in the early 70s body style just simply don't exist.
Cosmetically this truck is not perfect. The body is fairly straight with a few dings, dents and other imperfection shown in the pictures. There is no serious rust issues in the the floors or cab. Just one section on the rear corner of one side. The bed is solid and missing a tailgate. The grill is original and in great shape. The interior is in decent shape and complete with an optional factory tachometer.
The 454 V8 runs good with no issues. The transmission shifts in all gears. The truck has 6 brand new 235/85/16 Mud terrain tires. This truck is about as heavy duty as they come, also equipped with the Camper Special package meaning stiffer suspension with sway bars and HD radiator. The truck has spent much of last few decades in storage. It has recently had a new fuel pump installed.
