1954 Chevrolet Other Pickups

Thank you for checking out my 1954 Chevrolet 3100 1/2 ton pickup truck. This is the 5-window deluxe cab version with the embedded chrome trim in the exterior weather-stripping. I have owned the truck since 2015 and have really enjoyed continuing its restoration, making it even more original than it was when I bought it.There are no known issues with its drivability, appearance, or structural soundness.

My truck has the 235 cubic inch Thriftmaster straight 6engine. The engine block in my truck is not original to the truck, its date code makes it a 59 or 60 block. The original 1954 235 block would not have had positive-pressure oiling but the later manufactured block in this truck does, so I see this as a big positive. Asfar as I can tell the 3 speed manual (3 on the tree) transmission is original to the truck. I believe the rear end is original to the truck as well. The truck has the original floor-starter system and it has a manual choke.

I bought the truck from an older gentleman in Arkansas. He had overseen the greater part of its restoration. He believed the truck had always been in Arkansas, as there is no rust and the sheet metal is as straight as can be. He repainted the truck Biscayne Blue because he said it was the truck’s original color. The floor pans and the cab corners have been replaced. There is no rust on the truck –no bubbles or other paint issues. I have driven this truck a good bit so there are a few small paint chips. The running boards are painted base/clear black and they are in excellent condition. The gas tank and sending unit are new, but are the original type. Everything works as it should.

The truck has the optional heater/defroster unit as well as the optional oil filter canister system. I have added a small electric cooling fan because I am paranoid about heat in Middle Georgia summers, but it is hidden and hard to see. The truck drives great: clutch, transmission and brakes all feel as they should. I finished out the bed myself with quarter-sawn oak and stainless trim. The wood is coated with marine urethane so it is weatherproof. I did abandon the old vacuum wipers and I installed an electric motor there.

I own the 1954 Georgia tag so it will go with the vehicle, and is legally registerable in Georgia. I’ll ask for a $500 deposit when you win the auction and the truck must be fully paid for within 7days. I am glad to work with you for shipping if needed, but you will need to arrange and pay for it. Please pass along any questions you might have before bidding. There is no Reserve on this auction!
