Description:

1968 Chevrolet El Camino

Drivetrain: Chevrolet Performance 265hp 350 19420527 crate motor, SM330 heavy duty 3 speed manual transmission. Hurst floor shifter kit. New clutch and flywheel. Rebuilt 8.2" GM 10 bolt with Jegs posi, Jegs axles, new seals and bearings. Original 3.23 ring and pinion. Headers with full 2" dual exhaust.
New Sheetmetal: Front bumper valance, core support, lower fender replacement patches, all floor panels, inner smugglers bed sides, inner and outer rear wheelhouses both sides, right quarter panel, right lower trunk dropdown panel, tailgate, tailgate cover.
New Parts: Everything under the hood except for the steering gear box and wiper motor. Nearly everything in the interior is new except for the steering column and the plastic kick panels. The actual dash plastic is original and has been repainted. New windshield, weatherstripping, rear view mirror, gauges, headliner, carpet, dash pad, steering wheel, seats. JVC head unit with bluetooth and 4 new speakers. New American Autowire wiring harness.
New steering components, ball joints, spindles, shocks, bushings, pedals and linkage. Disc brake upgrade kit with new master cylinder and vacuum booster. New gas tank and new aluminum fuel line and new brake lines. Fresh 15x8 rims and traditional A-body tire fitment of 235/60 front and 255/60 rear. Tires have 3600 miles on them as does the whole car.
The car was fully sandblasted and separated from the frame. POR15 frame with Eastwood topcoat. Fully undercoated and seam sealed underside. Paint and body are DIY Spraymax 2K Hot Rod Satin Black. The paint should be considered rat rod quality. There are areas of filler that are visible and various imperfections and dings upon close inspection and some typical striping on the hood and roof.
To-do list: THE CAR HAS NO HVAC. The driver's side door handle is hard to open from the inside. I have a new door latch assembly that goes with the car. The car needs door placards. The power steering gear box has a slow drip. The windshield washer pump isn’t hooked up. Gas gauge works but never reads full or empty.
Clear title, current registration and inspection. Over $22,000 in receipts not including a year’s worth of labor. It is a great shop truck, cruiser, daily driver.
