Description:

1970 Chevrolet Nova

Welcome back all viewers and bidders from the previous auction which I had to end after discovering the engine date code. The date casting number located on the passenger side rear of the block is "GM5" which translates to nothing I could find.Because the car was assembled in Jan. of 1970, an engine casting number of 3935440 (on the driver side rear) could be correct. On Feb. 20 a very knowledgeable gentleman asked me to look near the starter and there was the casting number "D17 8" which means the block was cast at the foundry on April 17, 1968. I've relisted with a lower reserve to reflect this new information.
1970 Chevrolet 396 SS Nova with an L34 350 HP Big Block. The Muncie M-20 4-speed, 12 bolt 3:55 posi & Body are all matching as was built in 1970. See attached photos of cowl tag, dash vin and door sticker trans with vin stamped, rear axle code. I bought the car in late 2002 and had it shipped from Tempe, AZ to Illinois. Most of the work listed below was completed by 2004 except as noted.Engine machine shop work done by Integrity Automotive Machine, including crank grind/polish, all new bearings and rings, ARP rod bolts & main studs.
Comp Cams roller cam & lifter set (CL11-420-8) w/Comp Cams pushrods and springs. All new intake & exhaust valves.MSD distributor /w MSD 6AL adjustable rev limiter.Had a Holley for a while but got tired of rebuilding it because the car sits for long periods of time. Now has an Edlebrock Performer.Headers ceramic coated by JET-HOT.Muncie M-20 overhauled with all new bearings etc. Still have old parts from rebuild.CenterForce clutch disc & pressure plate.Hurst shifter.4 AutoMeter gauges.Steering column rebuilt w/new bearings and lock cylinder along with new matching door lock cylinders.Subframe & inner fender wells powder coated by House of Powder, Inc.New fuel tank.New fuel lines.New fuel pump.New starter. All new steering linkage.Original control arms w/new ball joints.New exhaust w/FlowMaster mufflers (42543) installed Aug of 2020.New rear tires in the summer of 2021.I have lots of paperwork to back all these up.
When I bought the car in 2002 the previous owner had the decks milled so theenginestamping # is not visible.I keep it in a garage 100% of the time I've owned it. Certainly never drove in rain or snow. Being from AZ it is a solid almost completely rust free car except for the rear fenders where the previous installed fender flairs. The car is utterly reliable. Since I've owned it driven less than 500 miles.
From the factory it was medium blue cloth bench with Fathom Blue upper & lower exterior. The buckets are correct for a console car which is what I wanted it to become.
Known issues: When turning over a bump LF tire may contact inner fender. At times when braking one of the rear drum brakes makes a light tick sound. Minor oil leak.
I have a floor jack w/safety stands available for inspection of the car. Your welcome to my home in the west valley of Phoenix anytime for an inspection and road test.
I can text you a video of the car running if you'd like. Call or text Eric at 630-772-0360.
