Description:

1971 Chevrolet Corvette

I started this project in 2020, but now I'm having a new house built; so I'm selling the project as-is if the right buyer is out there. I've spent exactly $56,602.60 on it up to this point, not including the countless hours of my time. I'm setting the minimum bid at $40K. Don't let the rough appearance fool you. If you know what you're looking at, you'll recognize the value of what's here.
The point of the car was to be primarily a road-racer, and I've built the chassis and drivetrain with the best of everything. From where it is today, it needs the electrical, body and paint, interior, and reassembly work completed.
The following is a long list of the major things I've spent the money on and parts that come with it. I'm probably leaving out some things, but you get the picture. Not counting the trivial little things you'll need as you finish it up, the big stuff is all there to get it running and driving. Depending on what you are capable of doing yourself, you could have this finished and driving for less than $5K more investment. I have parts that aren't shown in these pictures. If you have any questions about what else is here, just ask. 682-201-5804

Chassis:
o Original frame seam welded and reinforced everywhere
o 6-point cage (1.635” dia; .134” wall thickness) welded in with door swing-outs on both sides; I have another 15’ of tube & hardware for 2 more swing-outs that go with the car. I was going to add a Petty bar with this material.

o Rebuilt trailing arm bearing assemblies with 31-spline outer axles (new) from Tom’s Differentials and new e-brake hardware and cables.

Body:
o L88-style flares bonded on; my plan was to do vintage race-car look with exposed fastener heads
o L88 long-style hood; I relocated the cowl induction plenum to line up with the location of the LS7 intake so it will work as originally intended.
• Created a cut out to vent hot air behind radiator; trimmed out stainless wire mesh to finish it out but haven’t installed that.
o Greenwood-style fender louvers (bonded in)
o I have all trim, rear bumpers and brackets, front bumper and most of the front bumper brackets. I do NOT have the front bumper guards. Depending on whether you want to do the vintage road racer look like I did, you may not need or want them.
o The windshield was old but in good condition when I put it back in. However, it developed and large crack since then and will have to be replaced to pass a DoT safety inspection.
