1955 Chevy 210 with 383 stroker, 700R4, 9-inch rear, PS, PDB, Air, New Interior
1955 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 HOT ROD
. This is a 1955 Chevy 210 two-door sedan. It has been rebuilt into a beautiful looking great driver. Car was painted black in 2018. The chrome and trim have been replaced. The rear fender wells are from a 1955 Nomad. It is powered by a 383 stroker engine built by a local professional shop. I looked over the dyno sheets and the engine made a best of 423 HP @ 5400 RPM and 463.5 Torque @ 3700 RPM. The engine is equipped with Edelbrock air gap intake and new 750 Holley Brawler with coated long tube Hedman headers. Transmission is a 700R4 built for this engine's power output and it has a new Hughes 2500 Stall Converter. Power goes to a Ford 9-inch rear - we did not know what gear ratio but at 70 mph the tach reads 2400 rpm with a 27-inch diameter rear tire and using the 700R4's 0.696 overdrive that calculates to about a 3:89 or 3:91 gear; rear is open. Brakes are power with discs in front. Car has power steering with a new 500 series box. Tires are new and are mounted on gray spoke American Racing mags. It has a new interior with new emergency brake, Ididit tilt column, tach on the dash and a trio of gauges under the dash. It has Vintage Air with heat and defrost. The owner purchased this car from a man in North Carolina in 2017 as an unfinished project. Unfortunately he passed away in 2021. His wife had the car completed and it has been driven about 1000 miles. She asked me to list it. Car comes with an inch thick stack of receipts for the car including paperwork on engine, transmission and dyno sheets. The car was built to be a very nice driver. It looks a lot like the ones built in the 1960s with the Nomad rear fender lips, station wagon rear bumper, vintage style mag wheels and trim removed from the trunk lid. Car has these faults: speedometer does not work, installer cut a place in the headliner (I could not find it), small crack on hood trim that can only be seen when hood is up, needs a couple of trim strips for the front seat - can only be seen when you pull seat tops forward. Car runs, drives and rides great. It is ready for someone to enjoy. Email me any question or call 804-five nine zero-0718. Paint was done in 2018, chrome and trim have been replaced or restored, all glass is good, new smoothie hood It has a station wagon rear bumper and the taillight lenses have been replaced Nomad rear wheel wells make the car stand out and makes it much easier to change the rear tires Front tires are 205X65X15 on 15X6 American Racing gray spokes and rears are 275X60X15 on 8 1/2-inch wide wheels Exhaust exits behind the rear wheel wells - sounds awesome through turbo style mufflers Class 55 front end looks great Trunk lid is smooth with exception of the lock Interior is all new, emergency brake and cables have been replaced. Tilt wheel is from Ididit and mounts an old school style steering wheel Seats are black and white in factory pattern Weather stripping has been replaced, new American Auto Wire harness and the floor shifter controls the 700R4 Bench seat is comfy and looks right in place where buckets would not Tach and gauges are from AutoGage - owner didn't want a radio so it has a delete plate Original dash looks great and I prefer it to digital ones - speedo does not work Rear seat with chrome fire extinguisher Installer cut headliner near sun visors - I couldn't find it Dome light works Both top seat halves need a trim strip - when the owner ordered the interior kit they didn't come in the kit Driver side door panel Passenger side door panel Drive it home with a smile on your face Powerful 383 stroker made over 400 horsepower on the dyno and can easily be driven on the street - it has a big block radiator and will not run hot in the warmest weather Engine has power brakes with a Corvette style master cylinder Block is painted orange with gray valve covers and chrome air cleaner, thermostat housing and fuel pump Chevy bowtie air cleaner sits on top of a 750 Holley Brawler carburetor and air gap manifold Car has Vintage Air - you can see the 500 series power steering box Engine is very clean only has a few miles on it - owner used Brad Penn 15W40 oil only HEI style distributor and fill for the 700R4 You can see the Hedman Header label on the coated long tube headers - spark plug wires are from Taylor Underside of the hood Small crack in hood lip trim can be noticed when hood is up Trunk lid opens and closes correctly - it has new rubber Underside of the trunk lid Driver side of the trunk Passenger side of trunk with spare Trunk mat VIN on door jamb matches VIN on title Firewall data plate Copy of clear title with matching VIN Inch thick set of receipts This is from the engine builder There are 4 pages of dyno sheets 700R4 transmission Vintage Air manual We did not know the gear ratio of the 9-inch rear so using GPS for speed and the car going 70 mph the tach reads 2400 rpm with a 27-inch diameter rear tire and using the 700R4's 0.696 overdrive that calculates to about a 3:89 or 3:91 gear - this is an estimate. Car cruises great at 70 - it was meant to be a driver. Grill and bumper are excellent Smooth hood, glass is good Driver front fender - you can spot the long tube headers behind tire Doors open and shut properly - body is straight It has stainless trim just below the windows Driver side rear wheel well and rear quarter panel New chrome bumper and taillight bezels New mesh package tray Passenger side rear quarter Note the rear wheel area looks just like this 1955 Nomad Nice body Note reflections in the smooth glossy black paint Passenger side front fender Underside of the radiator support Driver side front suspension Passenger side front suspension with disc brake Oil pan and long tube Hedman Headers Engine has a small high torque starter Crossmember for the 700R4 Driveshaft goes to the Ford 9-inch, dual turbo style mufflers Body mounts passenger side Body mounts driver side Floor pans are in great shape Driver side rear suspension with old school style traction bar Passenger side rear suspension Passenger side rear quarter Driver side rear quarter Gas tank The car is located in Chester (Chesterfield County) Virginia 23831 a short drive from I-95.
