1967 Chevrolet Corvette

1967 Corvette Convertible. The "Virginia Gentleman" was well-known racing in the 70s and 80s up and down the East Coast. Driver John Boughers was often considered the "Oldest Man in Drag Racing" recording times in the 9s. The car was show-cased at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green and appeared in several magazines including Car Craft, Hot Rod and Hot Rodding. It also appeared at the World of Wheels. This was originally a fully optioned 1967 Corvette convertible with a 327, automatic transmission, power windows and the rare air condition (AC) option. The original tank sticker is reported to still be on the car. Originally green in color, it was painted red in the early 80s at the request of a new sponsor at the time...Champion Spark Plugs. The frame is super clean, and the birdcage is excellent as well (inspeced with borescope). Additional race/performance upgrades included a 620 hp small block Chevy (13:1 compression), ATI peformance transmission with trans brake, indestructible spooled rear end and roll cage. This Corvette sounds absolutely incredible... shakes the windows and entertains (or annoys : ) the neighbors! Researching "Virgina Gentleman Corvette" on the internet (google) provides some fascinating pictures and stories that help solidify the history and reputation of this unique piece of Corvette and racing history. (See CorvetteForum.com, NickeyPerformance.com and Yenko.net)This Corvette has a clean and clear IL title (signed by the previous owner). It is perfect for local shows but would need some investment (tires, exhaust, and seats at a minimum) to be more streetable. I would love to keep it, but my mom had a stroke a few months ago and now requires permanent long-term care with medical expenses beyong what she and our family can afford.NOTE: I sold this car on ebay just over a month ago for $42,100, but the buyer backed out due to "financing." Please serious and respectful bidding/inquiries only. Item#3O945E9E9E (E=3). Thank you!
