BARN FIND 1968 Chevrolet C-10. I purchased this truck from a Northern California town next to Stockton Ca. in 2013. This truck was built and sold in CALIF and has never left. I am the 2nd owner. When I purchased this truck, the shop supervisor showed me the service records for the truck and the truck really had14,000 original miles!! The truck was purchased new in Fairfield Cal. by the Fire Dept in 1968 and was used as a trench shoring truck for the fire hydrants the FD was installing. When I drove to the truck to San Francisco to meet family in from out of town, the 307 V8 purred like a kitten. After San Francisco, I drove home to Los Angeles and the truck ran flawlessly. No trouble the whole way. Now here is the good part, when the time came and the throttle was finally hammered, the little engine that could, did! For our collaborative efforts-not to mention the efforts of the new parts-the 307 put out a very respectable315hp at 5,200 rpmand 330 lb-ft torque at 3,800 rpm. Yes, this is a very strong running truck with the original carb attached. Another feature of the truck is the amount built in 1968. The long bed step side is very rare indeed. The total production for 1968 Chevy C-10 Long Bed Step Side is 18,632 for a 127 inch wheelbase. This truck has some rust but it is not a wreck. Any decent bodyman could clean it up and drive this for another 50 years. The structural integrity is STILL intact and you will not be disappointed. This truck needs a good home and unfortunately, I have tooo many projects and this one is now up for sale.
