RECENT REBUILT 2-SPEED POWERGLIDE TRANSMISSION, SHIFT'S CRISPY. DOOR'S, TRUNK, HOOD OPEN AND CLOSE NICELY. '58 IS AN ORIGINAL TUXEDO BLACK CAR WITH A BLACK ROLL AND PLEATED INTERIOR. THERE ARE NO ARMREST'S. 25-30 YEAR OLD BLACK PAINT STILL LOOKS EXCELLENT AND SHINE'S LIKE GLASS! ONLY PAINT AREA PROBLEM'S ARE AT THE TOP OF THE PASSENGER HEADLIGHT'S AND THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR BOTTOM QUARTER PANEL(SEE PHOTO'S). ALL BODY MOUNTS LOOK TO BE FINE. MOSTLY EVERYTHING WORKS AND IS FUNCTIONAL. CIGARETTE LIGHTER WORKS. ALL LIGHT'S WORK. RADIO WORKS. 3-SPEED DELUXE HEATER AND DEFROSTER WORK. WIPER'S WORK BUT ARE VERY SLOW. ALL SIDE WINDOW'S ROLL UP/DOWN NICELY. VENT WIDOWS WORK FINE. '58 HAS THE COMPLETE ORIGINAL TRUNK JACK AND MOUNTED CORRECTLY WITH THE SPARE TIRE. I PUT SOUND DEADNING IN THE BOTTOM OF THE REAR SEAT, THE TRANNY HUMP AND PASSENGER FLOOR. I RAN OUT OF THE DEADNING SO DRIVER'S SIDE FLOOR, UNDER FRONT SEAT AND THE REAR TOP OF SEAT HAS TO BE DONE YET. '58 NEEDS A PASSENGER SIDE HOOD SPRING. LOOKS LIKE THE FLOOR'S IN THE FRONT WERE REPLACED AT ONE TIME. I WOULD HAVE REPLACED THE '58 DOOR WEATHERSTRIPING BUT COULD NOT FIND THE CORRECT FITTING ONE'S. RECENTLY HAD THE REAR MAG WHEELS RE-BALANCED. I HAVE NOT INSPECTED THE REAR BRAKES WHICH SHOULD BE DONE IN THE NEAR FUTURE. THE FRONT BRAKE'S ARE RIVERTED AND HAVE PLENTY OF MEAT ON THEM BUT SHOULD BE REPLACED ALSO IN THE NEAR FUTURE. BIG DOWNER IS THAT THE '58 DOES NOT HAVE POWER STEERING. 15" 70 SERIES TIRE'S HAVE PLENTY OF TREAD BUT ARE SEVERAL YEARS OLD. AND OF COURSE THE GREAT VINTAGE MAG WHEELS ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. COMPLETE NEW PS SETUP FOR THE '58 IS AROUND 700 DOLLARS. THE '58 IS AN OLDER RESTORATION THAT IS SUCH A NICE DRIVER WITH LOADS OF CLASSIC CAR ADMIRES. I LOST MY STORAGE FOR THE '58 AND IT'S TIME TO GO. AS FAR AS I KNOW THE '58 HAS BEEN KEPT INSIDE FOR THE LAST 25 + YEARS. THE '58 JUST PASSED A NEW YORK STATE SAFETY INSPECTION. I HAVE A BRAND NEW(150 BUCKS COST) INTERIOR FIREWALL INSULATION PAD THAT GOES WITH THE '58(BIG JOB). HEADLINER IS IN GOOD CONDITION. '58 IS A NICE TURN-KEY, CRUISE AND ENJOY CLASSIC CHEVY! ODOMETER READS 133,000 MILES. THE '58 IS NICER ENOUGH TO BE KEPT INSIDE.
