Paint: 900 Tuxedo Black, original 936 Ermine White

Automatic, 8-cylinder with air conditioning

Main engine components all original

Original fireproof installation under new carpeting

Underside, original and clean

All glass original except windshield

Runs strong and smooth, great cruiser

Factory AC: Original Frigidaire Compressor (rebuilt in 2009, uses R12) Pressure tested for leaks, but if you don't use the AC, the R12 slowly escapes

Interior: Red 490 AA vinyl covers (replaced with factory correct leather) have pieces of the original vinyl with the factory markings

Wiring: All new as of 2007

Body: Fiberglass is all very solid, but sometime in the vehicle's history it received a minor crunch to the right front wheel well. Looks perfect from the outside but you can see and feel the fiberglass repair inside the wheel well. Body paint has a few brush touch-ups here and there.

Speedometer: When the restoration shop performed the rewiring and replaced the speedometer cable, they accidentally broke the needle on the speedometer. They replaced it, but the new one has a different gear ratio and runs slower than actual speed (a spare speedometer is included, needs to be installed)

New windshield wiper motor, battery (5/22), alternator (5/22) radiator, hoses, fittings, shocks, AC fixed

Has paperwork of all that has been done on it plus paperwork from previous owner in Texas

Previous owner had affixed metal "fuel injection" decals on each side of the front. It is NOT fuel injection but the NCRS guy said it would only be a minor deduction off the grading if we left them on. If removed, it would be a bigger deduction because you would have to fill the holes and repaint.

Matching Numbers

As per Corvette Black Book and National Corvette Restorers Society info, vehicle was officially inspected by an NCRS judge in 2007. It was not "graded" by the NCRS but there are people that belong to NCRS from the K.C. Corvette Club that have said it is in amazing condition and that the numbers match.

Engine: Original 8-cyl. 327cid/300hp 4bbl L75 Block 3782870 Head 3782461

Transmission: Original Powerglide (only 1,576 built in 1964)

Carburetor: Original Carter 3851762

Distributor: Original 1111024

Alternator: Replaced May 2022

Body Build K05

History

This Sting Ray was on display and in storage at various times for approx. 28 years

Original shipping data report: GM official production date July 7, 1964

Original delivery dealer was Dealer Code 508 in Zone 26

Original dealer: Ross Chevrolet (Huron, Ohio)

Dept. of Motor Vehicles State of Ohio: The vehicle was never registered in the state of Ohio

Huron Chamber of Commerce: Ross Chevrolet sold to McIntire Chevy in 1980, then sold to Bill Beatty Chevy, closed permanently in mid-’90s.

Vehicle apparently mostly sat in the showroom until it was shipped to California in the late ‘70s right before Ross Chevy was sold. Looks like it was shipped to another Chevy dealer in central California.

Dept. of Motor Vehicles State of California: The vehicle was not registered in California until 1979 -- some place in the Central Valley when first registered to Gerald

Also registered in California in 2021.

1989: Sold to Donald in the Central Valley

1995: Sold to Anthony in San Ramon/Ventura

2003: Sold to Jeff in Paso Robles (repainted in 2005)

2006: Sold to Steve in Bakersfield

Sept. 2006: Sold to Terry in Texas

(Due to history, little to no rust)
