1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z-28
Up for grabs is my 1969 Z-28. As I am sure you are aware these are probably the most sought after Camaro's out there. I was lucky enough to purchase this Z from the second owner who had it for over 30yrs. The car was restored around 10yrs ago for the previous owners son. Unfortunatelyhe did not get to enjoy it. The car then went into dry storage were I came across it last summer. This was no steal of a deal or legend deals you read and hear about. The previous owner knew what the car was worth and it was a take it or leave it situation. Obviously I stepped up and made the car mine. I went through the carb and tuned the car up as well as changed all the fluids. It's did not need much to wake it up. The car had less then 200 miles on it since being restored before it went into storage. The body is 100% rust free with all original panels. Minus the cowl hood which is a N.O.S replacement. This is a original Van Nuys California car so it came with a flat hood originally. The car was taken down to bare metal. At that point the decision was made to have the car color changed to Glacier blue. PPG base/clear paint with ivory white rally stripes. The paint is very nice and shows no blem's . You can be the first one to put a rock chip in it lol. The original color was code 59-59 frost green car with code 723 Midnightgreen standard interior. It was a personal choice to do the color change from the previous owner and his son. The body is in amazingcondition and is very straight so a purest could take it back to original colors if he or she chooses to do so. That being said the car looks more then amazing in it's current colors. This car was built to drive and enjoy. Not be tucked away and never used. The original DZ 302 motor has been completely rebuilt and upgraded to make the car more street friendly and drivable with today's fuel. The block was bored .30 and 10.1 forged pistons were used. The previous owner choose a some what less aggressivecamshaft but still stuck with solid lifters(have cam card). The original crank was turned 10/10 and the original rod's were also reconditioned. The motor has been balanced. The originalheads have been completelyrebuilt with stainless valves, screw in studs and aluminum roller rockers. Still has it's originalwinters aluminum intake. The carb it a 750 cfm Holley double pumper but is not original. The distributoris not original and has had a Petronix electronic ignition conversion. Still has it's original 660 numbered Muncie M-21 transmission that has also been rebuilt with a new Centerforce clutch. The car also has it's original BU coded 3.73 posi 12blt rear end. All new brakes, front suspension, body mounts, fuel lines, brake lines ect. The headers and dual exhaustsound great with Flowmaster mufflers but are also not original to the car. The originalinterior has been completely restoredand has also been color changed from code 723 Midnight green standard to black standard and show like new. Has factory tach,Rosewood wheel, console with gaugesect. Everything works as it should right down to the original annoyingdoor buzzer! Like I said before this car was built to drive and enjoy! The car drives really really tight! The doors shut like new and all the body lines are great. Sit's on period correct 15inch rally wheels with new BFG rubber. I have put maybe 150 miles on this car since owning it. All the toy's get tucked away during the winter here in north Idaho. I have owned over a hundred first generation Camaro's and this is one of the best driving car's I have had. This is trulya turn key go have fun cruiser that will be sure to bring a lot of attention at the car shows.
