I have a 1986 Chevy K10 pick up, this truck runs and drives fines, i was told by previous owner that it has a 400 small block with a 4 speed transmission, the truck starts right up with no knocks, ticks or smoke, the four speed trans shifts out good, It had a new clutch installed feb of 2020. I installed just last month new front bearings, new rotors and breaks, also new lock out hubs on both sides. The truck don’t leak any fluids and does not use oil. The truck has daul exhaust and sounds very good also. It has 31/10.50/15 tires in really good shape I’d say half tread or more.
I will start now on the interior of truck, it’s fairly decent for a un-restored truck the seat looks to be in pretty good shape it is just faded a bit, the carpet has recently been replaced so it’s pretty nice and the floor seems to be solid, the dash has some cracks but still not to bad for and 86 model, the gauges all seem to work with exception of speed odo it comes and go’s. It has the factory radio in it that isn’t hooked up but should work, the guy before me had nice speakers in it and he took them out before I got it. The door panels are good and all the glass is good except one small vent window on driverside, which I have a new replacement that comes with it still in plastic.
The body on the truck is pretty straight and decent for an old truck and it’s had a recent paint job within 6 months, which is a 20 footer so it’s not a great paint job but it shines nice, and the paint is actually slick but body work is not great, but it looks good going down the road, but it won’t win a car show. It’s the factory Chevy blue metallic code 21. The body work isn’t great in my opinion but the truck still does look nice, the passenger door has a dent as well, I stil have people come up and check it out all the time, beings these trucks are very desirable and also they are getting hard to find.
So overall the truck runs, drives and shifts out good I drive about everyday to work, the heater works good also, it looks pretty good with a 20 footer decent shiny paint job, the interior I’d consider a 6 of 10. I traded for this truck thinking me and my son could re-do some things and make it really nice but my son has other plans now and things have changed, with that said I like this truck and don’t care if I sell it really but it’s time to try to move it on, hopefully someone can give it more love then I can at this point and time.
