We are very happy to present this really cool old school custom hot rod. The build was started in or around 1999 . All of the body work was done by Mike Hastings Hot Rods of Sherma, TX. The rest of the build was done by Grubb's Motorsports in Garland, TX and many other local shops who did interior, etc.

This is the car before. Looks like a pretty solid body with little or no rust. With the help of several different shops, the car became a great custom show worthy car.

The interior in this great car is in excellent condition. the front seat is from a 1970 Olds Toronado, and the rear seat back is from a 63 Impala. The audio system was designed and installed by the owner. It i a JVC AM/FM/CD head unit with Bluetooth mounted in the custom console.
The Saturn chrome billet steering wheel is from Jegs.

Gauges are from Classic Instruments.
The A/C is Vintage Air's "Super Cooler" system with custom vents in dash. It is working well.

The owner of the 51 was at a car show in Salin, Kansas back in 2009 and was lucky enough to run into Steve Stanford, one of the country's top automotive illustrator and designer in the country. He actually had Steve do a rendering of his car which included a 54 Chevy which shows how the modified 51 looks like a 54 that Steve had done in the past.

Below you will see the Stanford drawing that was done for our seller. This is a prized possession of his.The car also appears on a site belongingto Rik Hoving, editor in chief of Classic Car Chronicle.

Since there is so much to tell about this car, if you are interested, please call and we can email copies of the breakdown of all of the engine specs, design specs, and more.

This great engine compartment is filled with a 355ci full roller motor. It is a Walker Gen II aftermarket block and ZZ4 cam with roller valve train assembly. It is balanced and blueprinted. It has ProTop Line heads, port matched to intake manifold. It has an Edlebrock Air Gap Performer intake powder coated with a 625 CFM Carter AFB carb. The transmission is a 200-4R with B&M "Hotshot" converter.

There is so much to tell about this car, that it is too much to write. Please call us to go over all of the details.

There is a Champion aluminum radiator custom built for this application.

The rear suspension is Chassis Engineering 2.5" lower leaf springs with a Trans Am differential with 4.10:1 Positrac gears.

The front suspension is Mustang II with Heidt's Econo (square tube) tubular control arms.

As mentioned in the features, all of the pinstriping was done by a very well known local striper, James Crawford. His signature was 3 small dots at the end of each point.

There are just a few minor flaws in the paint. There is this small crack on the passenger side rear quarter panel. It's just about 2 inches long.

Below are a few photos of the build. You can see the 1954 Chevy fenders with their custom Winfield "deep" lenses and double turn stop lights.
