Description:
1955 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Custom
Only about 1,500 mi since it's been finished. Amazing body, luxury interior and a beast under the hood. It rides on a Roadster Shop chassis. New suspension was just dialed in. Ready to excited?EXTERIOR: The body is amazing. Obviously it is black and we all know it hides no sins. This car is laser beam straight everywhere. I did not see any signs of damage, cracking or body work. The panels fit precisely. The door handles were shaved, they open by remote. The 10 year old paint has certainly proven itself, it has a smooth glass finish. All the chrome and stainless was replaced. All the windows were replaced with smoked glass. The stance is amazing, just set by a professional hot rod shop. Beautiful set of Billet Specialties wheels. 18x8 in front, 20x13 in back. We just had installed brand new Pirelli P Zero performance tires ($1,550).
INTERIOR: Custom leather interior was professionally done by Paul Atkins. It was completely gutted and lined with Accumat sound deadener. I noticed everything is the same shade of color- leather, metal trim, steering wheel rim etc. Glove soft leather on the seats, they are custom upholstered and stitched front and back to match each other. It has reclining buckets in front. It has a custom made center console with a Locar shifter, power window switches and vintage air controls. The padded dash is leather. It has billet trim with matched set of LED lit gauges and a cd stereo. It has premium a/c. There are billet handles on the custom molded door panels. The custom wheel is on a polished tilt column. Down on the floor it has Wilton wool carpet and mats with bound edges. The pedals are billet.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: A supercharged big block! This 496 stroker motor has JE pistons, Eagle rotating assembly, Comp roller cam, rectangular port aluminum heads. This supercharger means business, it's a Vortech V7 YS1 capable of producing up to 30 lbs of boost. It has the upgraded polished air tubes, polished Maxflow enclosure box, and optional blow off valve. In that air box is a huge Pro Comp 950 carb. A set of headers let the burnt fuel out. The motor is dressed up with beautiful cast aluminum valve covers and polished intake. The front of the motor has billet pulleys with serpentine belt system. The a/c compressor is hidden down low and the lines are hidden. The condenser matches the radiator. It has a March billet power steering unit. An aluminum water pump, oversized aluminum radiator with dual electric fans keep it running cool. The engine bay is gloss black. Firewall is smooth, it has custom inner fender covers and fillers on each side of the radiator.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It has been boxed and upholstered exactly like the interior. The bottom of the trunk lid is upholstered. The battery is relocated behind the panel.
UNDERSIDE: It has a Roadster Shop chassis. We just spent over $6,000 at a professional hot rod shop installing new Ride Tech suspension. They weighed the car and have it dialed in at it's optimal settings for a great stance and best handling. It was just given a 4 wheel alignment. Up front it has tubular control arms with brand new Ride Tech adjustable coil over shocks. It has rack & pinion steering. In back it has tubular control arms and panhard bar and newly installed Ride Tech adjustable coil over shocks. Looking up at the motor it still looks fresh. It has a high capacity oil pan and chrome inspection cover. A new high torque starter and flywheel were just installed. The Turbo 400 automatic is built, has a West Coast 10" converter, finned aluminum pan and a Gear Vendors overdrive. A custom driveshaft connects to the 9 inch rear with 3.73 Detroit Locker gears. Custom made exhaust. It looks like 3 inch, it's coated, has welded joints with Dynamax mufflers. It is heat wrapped 1/4 of the way back. Custom brake system with drilled and slotted disc at all four wheels, red calipers and an e-brake. The fuel tank was refabricated. It has a premium Aeromotive 1,000 hp fuel system including, electric pump, inline filter, regulator lines and fittings. The chassis is gloss black. The solid metal dloors were protected with a black sprayon bedliner.
This is one bad ass 55. It's a Jeckyl and Hyde. Sinister looks on the outside, pure class on the inside. A beast of a motor will shake the ground. Yet you can comfortably cruise with the overdrive and stay cool with the air on!
