1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 Convertible Tribute

This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 tribute convertible does the legacy proud. With a bold color combo, bucket seat interior, upgraded stereo, and a growling big block under the hood, you know you're looking at the standout among standouts.
Nothing but red and black is exactly how you want a muscle car to look, and so this has been prepared that way. This is a factory Garnet Red car, and it has been given a professional respray later in life. That means a nice clearcoat luster every time you take this convertible out for a cruise - exactly what you want in a sunshine-friendly drop-top. The full-length SS396 stripe looks terrific against the paint, and at the same time, it highlights the straightness of the panels. Plus, it makes for a fantastic coordination with the blacked-out grille, blacked-out tail panel, and the crisp newer black convertible top. This one even has the correct aggressive details like the SS badges and dual power bulge hood. And on a classic like this, you know you want terrific brightwork. That's why you have mirror-like bumpers, complete trim, and upgraded polished American Racing Torq Thrust wheels with an aggressive 17/18 inch front/rear stance.
With the flip of a switch, the black folding roof powers down to reveal a nice black interior - so this drop-top has a great overall appearance with the roof up or down. You can tell they made a solid investment here to make sure that everything looks deep and dark, including the dash, door panels, carpeting, and seats. And speaking of the seating, everyone loves to see bucket seats and a center console in a muscle machine like this. It even comes complete with the iconic horseshoe shifter. The driver gets a wood-rimmed three-spoke sports steering wheel that gives a commanding view of everything. This includes the proper sports upgraded gauge package with tach and working clock. This was built to be a terrific cruiser, so they upgraded the radio to a retro-style AM/FM digital tuner. Plus, there's a full modern speaker system, including a custom trunk enclosure and Kicker subwoofer. There are even provisions and equipment for factory air conditioning (it will need servicing to blow cold again.)
This is the kind of motor that will make you proud to lift the hood at car shows. The 396 cubic-inch big block V8 is a well-done upgrade that utilizes a year-correct unit. It's exceptionally well presented with its orange block paint, shining valve covers, and cross-flags air grabber. If you look closer, you'll spot useful upgrades such as, the Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor as well as fresh wires and hoses. Even the supporting pieces like nice with new polished brake booster and new aluminum radiator. The full big block package fires up nicely with a sweet and deep rumble of the dual exhaust. The V8 feeds a stout TH400 three-speed automatic transmission on its way to a 12-bolt rear end. And as you look at the undercarriage photos you'll see they gave you the right SS-style upgrades, like the boxed rear trailing arms and a rear sway bar. Plus, control stays well in hand thanks to power steering, power brakes w/discs up front, and the wheel upgrade that allows for the grip of modern ZR-rated tries.
The sale comes complete with owner's manual and plenty of build receipts. Chevrolet built less than 9k Chevelle drop-tops in 1969, making them a very rare commodity over a half-century later. So to find one so nicely presented with a growling V8 under the hood is the kind of treat that doesn't come around very often. Don't miss out, call today!
