Offered briefly from 1949 through 1952, Chevrolets Fleetline DeLuxe sedans delivered traditional Chevrolet assembly quality, reliability, and economy with sleek and futuristic fastback body styling. Featuring impeccable proportions and arguably one of the finest designs ever to come from Harley Earls legendary GM Styling studios, these handsome Chevrolets received the ultimate compliment when Britains renowned H.J. Mulliner coachworks released the uncannily similar Bentley R-Type Continental in 1952. Offered in both 2- and 4-door sedan body styles from 1949 through 1951 and only as a 2-door for 1952, these beautifully styled Chevrolets featured the GM divisions top available trim level to match their forward-looking presence.
While Chevrolets smart fastbacks sold briskly when new, few quality examples of the 37,164 produced for 52 remain today.
