• Up for auction is a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 2 door hardtop project car in need of total restoration. I obtained this vehicle several years ago abandoned in Tennessee and actually started some of the restoration work. I have installed new floor pans and trunk pan. A new power steering system and front suspension was also put into place as well as fuel lines. The original 283 engine has been completely rebuilt and is ready for reinstall but obviously the restoration on the cars body is only in its beginning stages. I estimate the value of the rebuilt engine to be close to the starting price of the entire auction.I have the original transmission for the car as well as an additional 1958 Corvette engine to also go to the winning bidder included in the sale. There are many parts pulled from a 4 door Bel Air which I have in storage that can be used on this car which will go with the sale of the car also. I have an original windshield for the front but don't have any of the original seats that came with car new. Therefore the car will need an entire new interior. I don't anticipate being able to work on this project anytime in the foreseeable future so I am hoping the right person will have interest in the car enough to bring it back to life again. It could be restored to its original mint cherry condition or converted to a custom street rod of your choice.
