The Truck received a nut and bolt restoration that was completely taken apart and built into the beast it is today. It was imperative the look of the truck remained original, however with a few mods to the drivability, and comfort which no expense was spared in the process makes this one of finest drivers out there. Most of the work was done by Pauls Rods and Restos on Long Island. Over $75,000 has been invested besides the original purchase of the rust free Arizona truck.
Frame was completely disassembled, sand blasted, power coated, and received reinforcement to accommodate the new rear end. It has 4-link independent suspension with front and rear adjustable coilovers. Aluminum upper and lower arms. All pro built brackets and support mounts.
The Body is very straight....never any damage and the metal was pure after sand blast. I have pictures I can show. During the restoration process it received all new rubber cab mounts, new door seals, all new chrome pieces, new windows, new weather stripping, all new lights, bumpers, grills, all new bolts and nuts all around. The Bed was restored with all new wood bed kit with polished stainless steel strips. The truck has a beautiful blue paint job Crager polished wheels.
The 5.7L V-8 engine and transmission is from a late model Chevrolet Silverado and has electronic fuel injection. A lot of detail has been spent on the engine compartment to make this truck a show winner. The aluminum radiator with electric fan keeps the car very cool. All brand new wiring & harnesses, polished aluminum headers, vintage AC kit, all new pulley’s & belts, power disc brakes kit, power steering kit and much more. Of course, I also installed a magnaflow exhaust. Drives like a modern truck and it can be driven anywhere.
The interior has been upgraded with a bench seat from a modern pickup. All upholstery is brand new including roof line, and all new chrome miscellaneous pieces throughout the interior. Has all new chrome and digital gauge dash with all new fuel, volts, oil pressure, water temp, and tachometer gauges. All working, and lights up at night. Stainless steel Ididit steering column with new leather wrapped steering wheel. AM/FM vintage radio kit with bluetooth.
This car is in excellent condition and very comfortable & pleasant to be in. It can be driven anywhere. I built it to my own high standards and to keep it forever. Unfortunately, due to a retina detachment and 4 subsequent surgeries I cannot drive safely anymore. I have already sold my entire classic car collection but have kept this one because it is my favorite. As the Billy Joel song goes, "at least I can polish the fenders." I realize now that I need to pass it on to someone who will drive it regularly.
