1972 Chevrolet Cheyenne

Do you like Big Blocks? Do you like patina? Do you like Longhorns? Then check out this trifecta of Chevrolet goodness.
I am selling this truck for a lifelong friend of mine. He has a clear Washington title in hand. He sets the price, and shipping arrangements will be made through him upon auctions close. I will facilitate this. The truck is located in Bellingham, Washington.
One of only 3,328 Longhorns produced in 1972, you have to wonder how many are really left. Particularly with the original Big Block, TH400 trans. As you know, 1972 represents the end of an era. This Medium Blue and White color combo has some killer patina that every Street Rodder out there is paying good money to fake. Does she has some blemishes? Yep. Does she have some dings? Yep. Does she have some scrapes? Yep. The good thing is, that's the same reason we love them today. Because they have a story to tell. Like a beautiful woman with a few lines around her eyes. She's confident and that's what makes her sexy. Just like this truck, SEXY!
The vast majority of the brightwork on this truck is in great shape. One cab corner piece is missing. All other trim is present and accounted for. The good news is, they reproduceevery piece for these trucks, if you feel so inclined to replace any. In fact the Longhorn emblems are brand new U.S. made pieces from Trim Parts. The front bumper is also a brand new unit that has a beautifuland resilientshine. The rear bumper is an old school camper slider bumper that is now welded in place with a Class III receiver. The grill and grill shell are in excellent shape. All of the glass in the truck is 100% original date coded glass, to include the front windshield which has zero cracks or chips. (The passenger side window has an alignment issue, thus it is in a fixed closed position)
The interior is rather utilitarian due to there is no carpet, but this is a mans truck, who needs fluffy carpet? Not me! You like creature comforts? Then check out that rarely seen factory tilt column and its flawless accompanying steering wheel. Not one blemish! And who doesn't love Houndstooth interior? I'd question your American citizenship if you didn't. At some point the dash was cut for a stereo, however a virgin OEM dash comes with the purchase of the truck. (See pics) The original owner elected not to pay for Air Conditioning, but did opt for the optional (and rarely seen) rear sliding window available with the Super Cheyenne package.
Under the hood, we'll find the matching numbers, original 402 BB from carb to pan. The engine (and transmission) have rebuild tags on them from Pioneer Industries, however we have no record of when the rebuild was done. The engine runs effortlessly and has plenty of power as you'd expect from a Big Block. No smoking, no rattling, no funny quirks or hesitations. The originalQ-jet sits atop the original low rise intake. The truck starts with just two pumps of gas. The transmission shifts with crisp authority. Full lengthdual exhaust with Flowmasters round out the drivetrain. The truck tracks true and straight down the freeway at 70mph. It rides surprisingly smooth for a 3/4 ton truck with HD suspension. It is completely roadworthy as it sits.
Like many of the 67/72 series trucks, this one has the usual cab corner rot, rockers, and door cancer. All of which will need to be addressed if you insist on perfection. If you just wanna drive an original American Classic and make your neighbor'sjealous, then simply park this in your driveway and watch the tears fall. This truck has the optional Tool Stowage Bin. The original tool storage door is rotten, however a very nice OEM replacement comes with the purchase of the truck (See pics) The wood bed was also rotten, thus removed for the installation of a new bed, which the new owner can build to suit.
I'm sure I missed some obvious things and I was limited by how many pics I could post, so if you want more specific pics or info let me know. $500.00 non refundable deposit due within 48hrs of auctions close. Shipping is 100% the buyers responsibility. I have shipped cars all over the world, to include Saudi Arabia, Netherlands, Australia, etc. so bid with confidence.
