Description:
1959 Chevrolet Impala
EXTERIOR: All 59 Chevys are sharp, this one is even loaded up with extras: Spears and rockets on top of the fenders, dummy spotlights, deluxe mirrors, cruiser skirts, dual antenna and continental kit. It even has a set of nice chrome side pipes. Overall the body and paint shows really well. It is a very bright red with a very smooth glossy finish. If you're not looking for flaws, you won't find any. All the panels fit nice, the body is straight. Overall the trim is all shiny and straight. I'm not saying it's all new, but it all shows very well. In back it has cat's eyes taillights with blue dots. Optional spinners on the hubcaps look new. Rides on radial tires. Door jambs are clean, weather strips are good.INTERIOR: The upholstery looks like it's been redone in the correct reproduction with the plaid inserts and the chrome piping. The door panels look like they've been replaced as well. Carpet was replaced but it's not new, it has heel pad gas pedal. It does have seatbelts in the front. The dash is overall real nice. It's been repainted and looks like a lot of the trim is new. Upgraded retro stereo. Down below it does have a gauge cluster and a tachometer. Overhead it has the correct headliner and visors that look new, both dome lights are working.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Small block Chevy motor with a set of big dual quad Edelbrock carburetors on top. Dressed up with some finned aluminum, vintage style Offenhauser valve covers. Chrome alternator, it has a new power brake conversion system, it also features power steering. Overall proper and respectable looking. The motor runs smooth.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Huge trunk compartment! Carpeted floor. It has hey jack and spare. There's even some extras- a hand crochet tire cover that his wife made, hand painted floor mats, extra valve covers, gauges and an extra spare. Bottom of the trunk lid and jamb are repainted, weatherstrip is excellent.
UNDERSIDE: In front it has new sway bar links and bushings, ball joints and shocks look like they've been replaced. Upgraded to disc brakes. The bottom of the motor is clean, starter looks recent. It has it's original Powerglide transmission. In back it has it's original rear end with 3.36 gears. Upgraded coil over shocks. Over all the floors look to be solid metal.
