This Impala was bought brand new in 1965 by Ray Chappell, a well known car dealer, mechanic, and Chevy enthusiast. Ray was the founder and owner of Chappell Auto located prominently on Route 2 in Gill, Massachusetts where it remains to this day. In the early 1970’s the car was passed to Ray’s son Louis, who kept it up beautifully and drove it every summer all these years. This car has never been out of the family, and was treated with love since day one. IT SHOWS!!It was always garaged since new.Louis followed in his father’s footsteps and ran Chappell Auto as a car dealer, mechanic, and enthusiast until the Spring of this year.
Sadly, Louis passed away earlier this year from the virus, and the family has decided that it is finally time to let their beloved Impala move on to its next home. I have been a friend of the family for over 30 years, and I am honored to present this unbelievable car to the market for them.

There are no known issues with this car whatsoever, and I would expect that it will treat the next owner as well as it has treated the Chappell family the past 55 years. As it was strictly a summer car, the heater core has been bypassed so that the cooling system no longer includes that loop. You would need to reconnect that if you want the heat to work. That simply involves adding back in one inexpensive heater hose, less than $20. I have no knowledge if there was an issue somewhere along the way such as possibly a leaking or plugged heater core, or if it was bypassed for some other reason. The worst case scenario might be a repair of a few hundred dollars. I just wanted to mention that.
