1968 Chevrolet Other

1968 GMC 910 (c10) CST Factory shortbox fleetside. Ordered with L47 option (factory 396 4bbl) which came accompanied with factory sway bar, TH400 transmission, and factory 12 bolt posi rear (3.73). This truck also came equipped with factory “buddy” buckets and tach dash. Being a CST (custom sport truck) package truck, it also came with all the chrome trim, bumpers, and sport mirrors. It is a rare truck. The truck has undergone an extensive rebuild with everything being rebuilt or replaced, with the exception of the factory interior (which remains in excellent condition) and the paint. The truck has had a repaint in factory dark blue. Firewall and interior are still original paint . The paint is probably 30 yrs old and is very respectable looking, but not perfect. I built this truck to be a driver and have learned from experience that show quality paint on a driver vehicle can be stressful. So, I opted not to paint. That being said, the truck is still very solid and a real head turner. And, gets lots of compliments on the paint. The chassis has had all the suspension rebuilt. New shocks, bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, etc. It has been lowered 3.5 inches in the front and 5 inches in the back. It was lowered properly with an ECE lowering kit that included new lowering leaf springs and an axle flip in the back (no c-notch). And drop spindles, new front springs (big block springs), and upgraded sway bar in the front. Everything has been painted or powder coated. I have kept all the original parts that were on the truck. And, made sure that everything can be put back to original in the future if so desired. The engine is not original to the truck and was in it when I purchased the truck. The previous owner had planned to restore the truck, and had gotten as far as replacing the engine before a health issue forced him to sell. The original engine was given as a core exchange for the new 454. I inquired, but recovering the original engine wasn’t a possibility. So, the engine is currently a fully rebuilt 454 dressed with the stock 396 accessory brackets and layout. Fully rollerized cam and rockers. Edelbrock Air Gap RPM intake. Brand new custom Stan’s headers (ceramic coated) and custom dual exhaust. It is very healthy and has no problem with doing a rolling burnout if you get on it. The truck is very quick. I had the transmission totally rebuilt and upgraded to handle the engine. All new parts, with shift kit (mild) and stall converter. Transmission case was cleaned and painted. Really happy with the way the transmission turned out. The truck shifts like a dream. Everything, under the hood is new. New rad support and inner fenders (blasted and powder coated). I spent a lot of time hunting down good quality replacements that aren’t thin gauge overseas junk. I have the original inner fenders and rad support, which will come with the truck, and are in excellent condition. I only replaced because I wanted a nice finish after powder coat. All new wiring, hoses, battery, alternator, and powder coated accessory brackets. Had the original power steering pump rebuilt. The remote power steering reservoir has also been powder coated. Brand new 4 core high flow radiator in OEM style. New heater core. New fuel tank. Had the inside of the fenders and the underside of the hood repainted. I wanted it to look better than new under the hood. And, it does. The front brakes have been converted to disc. The original drums parts will come with the truck. New brake lines, master cylinder and proportioning valve. Wheels are rally type that have been blasted and powder coated semi-gloss black. Brand new Cooper Cobra tires and center caps. Matching spare rim included. There is much more that I haven’t listed. I have done my best to illustrate the amount of time, work, and money that has gone into this truck. Any questions from serious inquiries are welcome. All original parts that I have will come with the truck. The truck was imported into Canada from Eastern Washington state. I have not yet registered the truck in Canada. So, it comes with a WA state title. I started this project with the intent to build it for myself. So, I didn’t spare any expense. But, in the course of the three years that I have been working on it I acquired another project that I want to focus on. I haven’t registered it to drive here; knowing that if I do, I won’t want to sell it. And, I can’t justify keeping them all. The truck will be listed locally as well. So, I reserve the right to remove it from ebay at any time. I will help accommodate shipping in any way that I can. But, shipping is the buyers responsibility. The truck is located in Langley, BC Canada about 15-20 mins from the US border. The Port of Vancouver is also accessible for overseas buyers. Thanks for looking.
