1968 Chevrolet Camaro
My name is Mark Charlson and my cell is 712-333-5897. CALL ANYTIME! LOW RESERVE!!!! I can't say enough about this Camaro which I purchased on 7-30-2012. It's in my business name because it was on my dealer plate, but it is a personal car out of my personal car collection. The car runs and drives awesome, and in every way it is a great daily driver. Quiet exhaust, perfect running and fully rebuilt engine (no expense spared) with no noise or knock or tick, and it always starts up and fires up perfectly. Does not smoke or leak. Here is the great story on this car......I purchased from a family who had inherited the car because the owner died in prison which he was sentenced for a bank robbery in which this car was used. After he went to prison, this Camaro was impounded inside of a downtown Sioux City building for approximately 25 years. Put it this way, when I got the car, a BAD COMPANY tape was intact inside of the aftermarket tape player. There was a toolbox inside the car (pictured here as I kept it) which had glass cutting tools, etc which is pretty cool. Not sure if the glass cutters are still there but the toolbox comes with it). Unbelievable it ran and drove, but obviously needed a full restoration, which we did. I had the 327 engine which I don't know how to guarantee but I am 99 percent certain it is the original engine, completely restored as well as the REST of the car. It has a 2 barrel carb. If anything needed replaced or rebuilt, we did it. The entire mechanical parts of the car were either in excellent condition, or it was restored to new. The transmission shifts perfect and we did not rebuild that. My total bill was around $10,000 but I cannot find the receipt as it was from 8 years ago. We went through suspension, steering, brakes, EVERYTHING that was worn was replaced at that time. It does not have power steering, but it's easy to drive and steer. We also put in air shocks on the rear so you can lower or raise it the way you like. I love the stance. I then took the car to the wheels and tires shop and put on ultra cool SS Cragers and killer 225-70-15 BFGoodrich tires. They look amazing. I then had the exterior completely restored and had any rust issues fixed. The car is RUST FREE on the outside as since it was painted (to black from the original Teal Green) 8 years ago, I have not driven it in snow, and barely in rain. I can't see even a single small rust bubble anywhere on this car. He did an amazing job with the body work, and it draws strong complements wherever you go. There are no waves in the paint, and it absolutely looks like I spent way more than the $5k that I did to do it. It's not a show car though, and there is some surface rust under the trunk cover (have no idea how this got here other than humidity/age) and since the car is from Iowa, you can expect that there will be other rust spots underneath since it's 52 years old. However, I took a ton of pictures to show how clean the undercarriage is. You will be impressed. Again, it's not a Barret Jackson car and I am not asking Barrett Jackson money, but holy smokes, this car is SUPER SUPER sharp and looks new from every angle. There is no hail, no big scratches or dents, and again, no leaks (do expect a drip just in case it happens to you because it is 52 years old). Since restoring the car, I have only driven it about 1500 miles in the past 8 years. After finishing the exterior, we did the interior, which I changed to white. I love the interior. It also draws tons of complements. Lastly, I took it to my stereo shop and had a Bluetooth stereo installed with a subwoofer/amp. It has a very loud killer stereo and sounds best when playing Guns and Roses, and some Metallica. So all in all, you're getting my favorite classic car that I hate to sell. I made a commitment this year to get rid of everything I don't need or use anymore, and as much as I love this car (I have owned 8 years), I am selling it to someone else. You will love the car. One last reminder here on the condition....It would be considered RUST FREE by any reasonable person, and EXCELLENT overall condition by any reasonable person.... I couldn't find a bubble or a speck anywhere on the car, but you MIGHT because it's not new, and it's not restored to new. You may find other flaws, because it's not restored to brand new, and the restoration we did was 8 years ago...So it will have light wear and tear, scatches, etc that come with a used vehicle. So in my opinion, it's rust free and like new, but you will find surface rust underneath etc because it's from the Midwest and it's 52 years old.... It's just a BEAUTIFUL CAMARO. So keep expectations realistic please. Our feedback speaks for itself. My name is Mark Charlson, and I own Highway 9 Auto Sales in Ponca, Nebraska. My cell is 712-333-5897.
