1959 Chevrolet El Camino
Everyone here loves this ElCamino, probably because we rarely see one. From an 85 car collection in Texas. Beautifully restored to look stock but has modern upgrades for reliability, performance and comfort.EXTERIOR: What a beautiful and unique vehicle to look at. The extended flat top roof, tail fins and cats eyes tail lights are just a few of the cool features. The body is clean and straight, it fits nice too. It has a very highly polished red paint job, it's glossy and has a mirror reflection. All the trim is beautiful. Upfront the grill and trim are straight and polished. All the chrome has been replated. On top of the fenders it has the chrome rockets, they look new. The stainless trim around the windows and the roof are straight and polished. The wiper bases are even new chrome. All the trim on top of the bed opening is restored. Side moldings are excellent. Has new door handles and the fingernail guards, dual bowtie mirrors, it even has the accessory trim around the fuel door. The bumpers lare rechromed in back it has the step plates. It also features fender skirts. The wheels are painted red, original hubcaps are nice. Upgraded with radial wide whitewall tires. Bottom of the tailgate is clean, the jamb is painted nice, has chrome hinges. Door jambs are painted nice too, new weatherstrips.
INTERIOR: Restored to look original, the seat is reupholstered in the correct upholstery with chrome piping. The carpet has the red and black speckled. The dash area is all repainted and the trim looks new. Upgraded with AutoMeter gauges that fit in the factory hole. It does have a retro stereo that fits in the factory hole and kick panel speakers. The air conditioning vents are neatly installed just below the dash. Original steering wheel is repainted. Headliner and visors are new white perforated material, overhead light works. It has new red seat belts. The door panels are new reproduction. New armrests, window cranks and handles. A real cool feature is the rear view mirror shaped like the tail lights.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Very tidy and well restored, full of modern upgrades. It has power steering, power brakes and air conditioning. The motor is a GM Goodwrench crate 350 with 4 bolt mains, bowtie aluminum intake with an Edelbrock carb that has an electric choke. Has a new HEI ignition system. It is decorated with a nice set of aluminum valve covers painted red with the Chevrolet logo and a dual snorkel air cleaner. All the wiring and hoses are run very neatly. All the components look proper, installed nicely and clean looking. Bottom of the hood is gloss black with hood insulation.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Inside the bed is solid, straight metal. It's been sprayed with a black bed liner and it has a very thick rubber mat carpet on the floor. It's usuable!
UNDERSIDE: The front end looks like it's completely rebuilt with new bushings, sway bar, etc. Bottom of the motor is real clean. Has a 700R-4 overdrive automatic trans. Underneath the back of the car is clean and has air shocks. Original suspension includes a panhard bar. A new exhaust system is very neatly bent along the x-frame. Rear springs look like they could be new. The brakes were redone, it has been upgraded to disc in front. The e-brake cable system is there.
The features on this car make it a comfortable, reliable cruiser. You may be surprised how many compliments it gets. I've heard many! This one will make you feel like you made the right decision once you own it.
