1959 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210
You are looking at a 100% complete project 1959 Belair that just needsreassembly and some finish body and paint work. The car was running
and used as a daily driver in 2013 before I began doing some minor
rust repair in the bottom of the doors, and as can happen that turned
into a complete teardown restoration. The pictures of the complete car
are from 2012-2013. The pictures of the car in bare metal are current.
Everything to complete the build will be included in this sale minus a front windshield,
including many extra parts and pieces that I have acquired over the
years. This includes a few extra doors and at least one extra
set of stainless side trim. I estimate I have over $15k invested in
the car, drivetrain rebuild and all the new parts and pieces I have
for it. That does not include my labor time. The 235ci engine and 2
speed powerglide automatic transmission have both been rebuilt by top level shops
here in Oregon as is documented in the photos. This alone was over
$6k. The running gear has less than 3000 miles since rebuild.Suspension bushings and brakes have very low miles on them. The car
will come with brand new delux 69 steel wheels and tires that have
no road miles on them. Numerous boxes of new parts form Eckler's, Steele Rubber ect.
will come with the car (window rubbers, door seals, fasteners ect.)
The exterior body of the car is currently in bare metal with no rust or body
filler on it anywhere so there will be no surprises. The previous two paint layers were stripped
gently with chemicals and DA to avoid any harmful side effects of
sandblasting. The original color of the car was called Gothic Gold. There were a few small areas on the body (door bottom corners, above rear wheel wells) that the metal was thin.I cut these out and replaced them with new sheet metal properly as seen in pictures. The passenger front floor section has been cutout due to
some localized rust, but the car will come with a factory stamped
passenger floor patch panel from Eckler's.The engine has a fresh coat of Bill Hirsch enamel paint with proper prep. The full interior will come
with the car. The interior had been restored a few years before I disassembled
the car and as can be seen in the picture looks great ($3k+ spent on custom reupholstry/carpet work).I installed a newfactory look retro sound smart phone ready headunit as well as a
stereo dash speaker.I've attached a video of the car driving on a country road days before I started the disassembly.I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot of stuff. In
hindsight I wish I would have never taken the car apart as everything
worked great and it drove nice and was always reliable. My plan was to make a period
correct police cruiser themed resto-rod. Unfortunately life
circumstances and space issues have me realizing that I will probably
not be able to see this project though and I'm hoping to pass it along
to somebody who can. I can be reached with any questions at
five-o-three 550 9018. Don't hesitate to call if you are truly
interested. I would also encourage, if possible, to come see the car
in person as words can only say so much. It's in about 100 pieces right now so that may need to taken into consideration before scheduling transport.
