Description:

1969 Chevrolet Camaro

By 1969 most musclecars could be outfitted with luxury items such as automatic transmissions and air conditioning, but not so the Camaro Z28. Its famous high-winding 302ci smallblock was available only with a Muncie 4-speed, a 12-bolt Positraction rear end and road-holding F41 suspension. Added non intrusive new, vintage air system. The Z28 ran in the opposite direction from luxury towards performance; the big deals were not power convertible tops, but a Cross-Ram intake system and the rare Code JL8 power four-wheel disc brakes. This 1969 Z/28 combines those very features in an attractive Le Mans Blue wrapping with Black Sport Stripes, one the best looking paint schemes available that year and a collector favorite. The fiberglass Cowl-Induction hood feeds a special order Holley Cross Ram intake system with twin Holley four-barrel carbs. Although rated by the factory at 290hp, the single-Holley 302 bench-tested at approximately 400, and the dual Cross Ram version even higher. The free-flowing optional chambered exhaust adds power and a great soundtrack, and the addition of four-wheel disc brakes raises this car’s overall performance to a whole new level. This numbers-matching example of the car Hot Rod described as “the best Chevy ever built” leaves nothing to be desired, exactly what we have come to expect from the Reggie Jackson Collection. Actual Mileage is unknown.
