The Elkhart Green 1972LT-1 convertible, with factory air conditioning, being offered for sale here isquite simply one of the nicest, if not the nicest, highly original and inexcellent condition examples to be found today. Here is an opportunity for thediscriminating Corvette buyer who wants the “best of the best” and will behappy with no less.

The car is Bloomington Gold Certified and Featured in the hardcover book:"The Gold Certified Cars of Bloomington" with a color SIX page spread.
An NCRS Regional Top FlightAward was earned in 2006 and a National Top Flight in 2007. The car hasexcellent documentation including the Dealer Sales Invoice, Purchase Agreement, originalWarranty Booklet, with Protect-O-Plate, Window Sticker, the 2 page Corvette Order Copy (tank sheet), judging sheets etc.

There have been manygreat Corvettes built over the years; This is the Corvette which offers big blockacceleration without compromising small block balance and handling prowess. With a high winding small block 350ci engine and a 4-Speed manual transmissionto run through the gears, the LT-1 Corvettes offer neck-snapping accelerationand take the corners with the best European sports cars. This is a Corvette forthe enthusiast who really appreciates a very nimble and fast classic Corvette.

To achieve it’slegendary performance, the 1970-1972 LT-1 used some of the best internal engineparts GM ever made. A solid lifter motor featuring a forged steel crankshaft,4-bolt main block, impact extruded pistons, high-lift camshaft, low restrictionexhaust, aluminum intake manifold, 4-barrel 800 cfm Holley carburetor, andfinned aluminum valve covers. Mated with the required Muncie 4-Speed, thesemechanical gems produced sounds and a driving experience never to beexperienced again in a production car. The 1970-1972 LT-! marked the end of anera. It was the last solid lifter V8 produced by GM.

Aside from itsincredible performance characteristics, a “real deal” documented 1970-1972 LT-1Corvette is a “Blue Chip” investment grade Corvette due to its rarity.

The LT-1option was only available in 1970, 1971, and 1972. The 1972 Elkhart Green LT1convertible, with factory air conditioning, is the rarest of the rare; since, only 240 LT1 Corvettes out of the three year production of 4,977 received theC60 option of air conditioning. Since convertibles were less then 32% of theproduction of the 1972 model year, we can extrapolate and estimate that thisair conditioned convertible is perhaps 1 of about 30 Corvettes factory equipped airconditioned LT1 convertibles.

If you want something having all the qualities ofa investment grade automobile ( high performance, style, nationally recognizedjudging awards, documentation and rarity) this Corvette has it all.

The 1972 Elkhart GreenLT1 convertible, with factory air conditioning and 52,000 original miles, being offeredfor sale is highly original - un-restored, with the exception of a high qualityrepaint. This is a 1972 Corvette built by the St. Louis Corvette AssemblyPlant not taken apart and put together in a restorer’s shop.

The car is fully loaded with Power Steering, Power Brakes, DeluxeInterior, and a Tilt-Telescopic Steering column, AM/ FM Stereo, Air Conditioning and Deluxe leather interior.
