This 1962 Corvette should be named Perfection, because when you think about everything a real Restomod classic should be, this car is simply perfect. Built and finished just 685 miles ago by one of preeminent builders in the U.S., this car combines exceptional ride and handling, show level appearance, and the best of the best in components and finishes to provide a truly modern Corvette wrapped in a vintage body. First of all, I need to be clear that this car is ALL BRAND NEW with 685 miles on it. This isn't a backyard, thrown together with spare parts build. It was designed, fabricated, and executed over the course of 3 years, over 20,000 hours in intensive labor hours, and an obscene amount of money to be as nice as it possibly could. Any part on the car is either BRAND NEW, or professionally restored to BRAND NEW condition before it was put back in place. The car has been touched by some of the best in the business, and those with an attention to detail with certainly see the subtle changes and modifications done to separate it from the pack. The project started with a show quality 1962 Corvette that was a part of the prior owners collection for years. Although beautiful, its lack of matching numbers components allowed the owner to give into temptation and commission the machine you see below. The body is exceptional, and shows nicer in person than the photos allow. It was separated from the original chassis, stripped to bare, and then carefully gone over, cleaned, tweaked, and adjusted until the panels, fit and finish, gaps, and modifications that were done to it were just PERFECT. Then, and only then, was released to the paint shop to have the multiple coats of custom-blended House of Kolor applied to it. HoK actually created this blend for the car at the customers request, and he named it Vintage Red due to its combination of Roman Red, Victory Red, and a few other little goodies. After extensive color sanding and buffing, the finish is simply breathtaking to behold, and shows so exceptionally well that you find yourself CRAVING a small blemish just to make it seem real. Rich, deep, and incredibly clean, it has been maintained in a climate-controlled garage since new, and looks as though it just came off the stand at a major show. If you haven't picked up on them, some of the cool mods done on the car involve custom front and rear valence panels, adjusting and tucking the bumpers just a tiny bid closer for a more modern look, and the design and fabrication of the one-off inner fenders and tubs. Of course, when you go to that level, everything else on the exterior needs done too, and that was the case with this Corvette! All of the chrome and bright work on the car was completely refurbished and made better than new. Same for the emblems, badges, lettering, bumpers, grill trim, windshield surround, and every single other part. It shows PERFECTLY, and looks just as good from 10 steps away as it does from 10 millimeters. NO APOLOGIES with this car. All of the exterior lights are brand new, and all of them work perfectly as well. Stance is promoted by the Billet Specialties BONNEVILLE G offset rims that perfectly capture modern style without sacrificing the classic heritage of the car. They are in flawless condition, and show polished front, and back. Inverted lugs keep the look extra clean, and thwart attempts at thievery too! Glass throughout the car is all brand new, and shows it. NO flaws or marks of any kind to be found. Essentially, the car shows 10 out of 10 in every aspect of the exterior. Pop open the doors, and you are met by an interior that rivals the outside of the car in every way. Fit, finish, detailing, and layout are all so nice it looks factory perfect, and everything looks and functions like new because it is. The imported Italian Leather is finished in Cocoa, and it is so deep and rich looking you'll worry that it might melt in the sun! The hands were all hand stitched, and the detail work around the dash, center stack, door and kick panels, seats, and trim work are some of the best you'll find on any vehicle. Custom made trim plates, exquisite wrapping, and overall quality are next-level, and worthy of any major shows judging panel. Classic Instrument was tapped for a complete set of new nickel and bronze Corvette gauges which manage to look period correct and ultra-modern at the same time. Of course, they all work perfectly, and have been calibrated to allow close monitoring of all the cars vitals. The speedometer is just 1 mph off of GPS, which is astonishing, and the odometer is fully functional and presents just 685 miles attributed to the 500 mile break-in period, and a few trips to local shows and events here in Florida. On the topic of break-in, this car was mocked up and driven about 100 miles before complete disassembly. Only then was every part and component meticulously removed for paint, powder coat, polishing, and detailing prior to final assembly with ALL NEW HARDWARE for the new owner! Then, it was carefully driven and dyno tuned to perfection until the 500 mile mark, when it was completely gone over from front to back insuring that everything was torqued to proper specifications and operating perfectly. Only then was it released to the owner to enjoy. Back to the interior… The dash was treated to the hand-stitched leather, including the grab rail, and it shows like new. Leather was also wrapped around the Billet Specialties steering wheel, with a shortened steering column and billet signal arm. All of the switches, knobs, and buttons are brand new, and work perfectly. Vintage Air was tapped for the climate control and A/C system, and the center stack contains the clean controls and two center vents with engine-turned surround. It works perfectly, and keeps you and your passenger comfortable in any temperature range. Seats were custom made from scratch to allow for occupants of taller height and larger girth to fit comfortable inside the car. They are firm and supporting when driving, and are wrapped in the same imported Italian Leather than garnishes the rest of the interior. Seat belts are provided for both seats with shiny chrome buckles. Carpeting is German-Weave Luxe that was laser cut and custom fit to the car over layers of DynaMat. It is hand banded, and in perfect condition. The same carpeting and leather cover the rear top panel, as well as the entire trunk for a cohesive look. Everything on the inside looks new, because it IS new. From front to back and side to side, if it made it into the interior, it was new, new, new! The top hatch opens as it should, and it is finished inside and out with the same level that the rest of the car it. There is NO soft-top included with the car, but plenty of room to add one should you wish to down the road. Trunk is fully finished, and there is a floor access panel that allows you to get to the fuel pump and send unit should you ever need to down the road. The full original hardtop was completely refurbished and made like-new again, including all new hardware, headliner, bows, glass, rubber seals, and chrome trim. It is just as perfect as the rest of the car. Tremec supplied the short-throw shifter for the car, complete with black ball topper, and the custom boot and surround for both the shifter and chrome E-Brake lever were hand made for this particular car. All new wiring throughout has a home base under the dash, and it is fit with modern cartridge fuses and a cleanly labeled wire set for easy access. Overall, the interior is an indisputable 10 out of 10 in quality, condition, and presentation. When it comes to Restomod performance chassis, NO ONE does it better than Art Morrison. The original owner of this car new this, so of course, Morrison was called to hand fabricate this numbered complete chassis specifically for this project. It consists of quad adjustable coil-overs out back supporting a 9†independent rear end with inboard disc braking system, front adjustable coil-overs, mini rack with power steering, power brake system with 6-piston Wilwood up front, and entirely ALL NEW components from front to back! It was designed and assembled, sent out to test fit, and then returned to have everything either painted, powder coated, polished, or chromed before reassembly with all new polished or chrome hardware. It is STUNNING so see, regardless of if you peek under it, see it on a lift, or just catch a glimpse of the brakes, dual coil-overs, or anything else when looking at the car. It is SHOW QUALITY, and would be perfectly comfortable sitting on top of show display mirrors at any event. When it came time to power this machine, great care was taken in selecting a powertrain that would be equal parts reliable, powerful, and easy to maintain. In the end a GM Pace Performance crate engine was selected, and ordered direct from the Chevrolet dealership, along with a matching T-56 Magnum double-overdrive 6-speed from Tremec, and the GM engine controller kit. Engine specifications are as follows: Power: 525 HP @ 6300 RPM, 489 ft. lbs. of torque @ 4400 RPM Displacement: 376 CID, 6.2L Bore x Stroke: 4.060†x 3.620†Compression Ratio: 10.7:1 Recommended Fuel: 92 Octane Block: Cast Aluminum with 6 bolt cross bolted main caps Crankshaft: Nodular Iron Connecting Rods: Powdered Metal Steel Pistons: Hypereutectic Aluminum Camshaft: Steel Hydraulic Roller Tappet Cam Lift: .525†Intake / .525†exhaust Cam Duration @ .050â€: 226 deg. Able to withstand a massive 700 lb-ft. of torque while providing unbelievably crisp shifts, no other manual transmission on the planet offers as much combined strength, versatility, and general ease-of-use as the T-56 Magnum. Known in its original equipment form as the 'TR-6060', the Magnum is an aftermarket version of the same transmission found in many of today's most celebrated factory super cars - including the ZR1 Corvette and ACR Viper - giving you refinement where you want it and strength where it counts. Features: New synchronizers featuring fine tooth angles Bolstered one-piece countershaft to resist distortion 12 Tooth Reluctor Stronger input shaft Re-designed shift forks An extensively modified transmission case to prevent leaks under high-stress conditions and increase overall power-handling capabilities Street - (1st-2.66, 2nd-1.78, 3rd-1.30, 4th-1.00, 5th-0.80, 6th-0.63) The new harness incudes: Includes All the components required to run your GM Performance Parts ls376/525HP crate engine. Controller* Engine Harness Mass Air Flow Meter Mass Air Flow Meter Mounting Boss Accelerator Pedal Assembly Oxygen Sensors (Qty 2 Per Kit) Oxygen Sensor Mounting Boss Once the parts were acquired, everything was test fit, the custom made one-off intake installed, and then some extras were added to give a dyno tested 560hp before the entire thing was removed, and practically every part that could be was chromed, polished, or powder coated before being put back together. It all shows, runs, and performs like new, and the custom fabricated and show polished stainless-steel exhaust system gives it a wicked burble and crackle that sounds like a pack of Harley's roaming the streets! Power is smooth and full in every single gear, and the highway friendly sixth allows you to achieve triple digit freeway speeds without even coming CLOSE to working the motor over. It has a muscular pull off the line, and will easily break loose if you want it to. Shifts are tight and crisp, as you would expect, and clutch feel is about the best I have ever experienced. The power steering is light enough that anyone in the family can drive it, but firm enough to let you feel connected to the car on the twisty roads without fighting excessive play. It handles like a modern sports car in every way. I told a friend that it took to the curves like a Miata on crack. That's the best way to describe it. You always feel connected. The car has a PERFECT balance to it. It tells you everything that is happening while you are in the driver seat, and it sticks like glue to the road. We have had over a dozen high dollar restomods roll through our lives over the years, and this one is the BEST built, BEST handling example by far. The builders are known for having exceptional attention to detail, and for churning out not only award-winning show cars, but some of the best Pro-Touring and Power Tour hauling machines you've ever seen! With 685 miles, the car is still like new in every aspect. The ONLY items to mention on it are as follows: Three (3) small marks in the exterior finish less than 4.5mm in size, and most likely not able to be found by anyone who purchases it. Light discoloration on the bottoms of the header pipes as shown in the photos. Two (2) small marks less than 6mm in size on the frame from road debris. Other than that, the pictures tell the story. It is a 100% DROP-DEAD STUNNER that snaps necks like a chicken-farmer whenever you drive by in it. Do your research. I know what it is worth, and what it will bring, and will happily sell it for a bit less than that to save you and I both fees, transport, and commission. Come see it. I guarantee that the first person who does will buy it. If you are searching for a NEW 1962 Corvette with all the modern power, performance, and handling too, this is the perfect car for you.
