Description:
1972 Chevrolet El Camino Restomod
Supercharged V8 power, a custom/comfy interior, and serious suspension upgrades all come together in one slick package to make this 1972 Chevrolet El Camino Restomod. There have been thousands $$$$$ invested in restoring this El Camino, and the paint is your first indication. The factory-correct Ascot Blue has a slick shine that only comes from a big investment in a modern clearcoat application and a professional hand applying it. It's the kind of color that makes everything stand out, including the proper cowl induction hood and the black SS stripes painted on top. The fit of the sheetmetal, shine of the brightwork, and liner paint in the bed really show off an attention to detail. And those competition-style Amercing Racing Torq Thrust wheels hint at the power within (more on that in a moment.)
Inside is a fresh interior that was done for both comfort and performance. You have a comfy cloth seat, complete door panels, a nice dash, and plush carpeting all done in a deep black. This was lined with Dynomat for ideal sound insulation, and so you get to take full advantage of the upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo with Bluetooth. And the cold-blowing air conditioning keeps you comfortable all day long. You get that tingle of performance when you slip behind the Grant sports steering wheel on the tilt column. And the full round gauge package with large speedo and tach is nicely supplemented by auxiliary readouts under the dash.
Lift the hoods for the best upgrade of them all. It's a 383 cubic-inch stroker V8 with the unmistakable look of a Weiand supercharger proudly sitting on top. Other performance goodies include forged pistons, AFR aluminum heads, Comp Cams hydraulic roller lifters & camshaft, a four-barrel carburetor, and long tube headers feeding the H-pipe dual exhaust. You even have nice supporting components, like the MSD ignition, HEI distributor, Optima red top battery, and electric fans. The TH400 three-speed automatic transmission is a stout unit that knows how to handle this big power, and this feeds a strong Ford 9-inch rear. As you look at the undercarriage photos, you're going to spot an upgraded sway bar up front, upgraded polyurethane bushings, boxed rear control arms, and a rear sway bar. Plus, there's power steering, a four-wheel power disc brakes upgrade, and grippy modern performance tires.
Complete with the factory buildsheet, this is an outstanding restoration that delivers big power in an everyday kind of comfortable machine. So if you're looking for on El Camino to do it all, including grab some awards, call today!
