1972 Chevrolet El Camino SS

Here is a very nice, original SS El Camino that I am selling for a friend. I consider this a very rare car as it is a well cared for ONE OWNER vehicle. My friends father bought this car brand new off the transporter right here in Fresno in 1972 from Frontier Chevrolet. They owned "The Trophy Shop" here in Fresno for decades and it was decided that they needed a "truck" to deliver large orders and that's how it came to be. It was used in the 70's into the 90's then not much beyond that. It's always been garaged and has never been in an accident. It was re-painted and a new vinyl top was installed at some point but otherwise it's pretty much stock original. It does have a very nice Gaylord bed cover and an aftermarket radio that doesn't work. Lights, horn, signals and gauges all work except the clock and the tach. We found that the "filter" for the tach had a bad wire so if you can find a new one, the tach should work fine. Even the annoying "fasten your seatbelt" light and buzzer work! It has a hole in the headliner (see pic) and could use new carpet and tires are not worn but they are old. It runs excellent and drives great, the air conditioning does not work but it's all there. We noticed the battery won't stay charged which we think might be the voltage regulator. He doesn't really want to spend any money on the car, he just wants to sell it. His father has passed and they are selling his home so he doesn't have anywhere to store the car. It's here in my shop until it sells so please let me know if you'd like to see it or send someone to inspect. Again, the car belongs to my friend and you will be buying it directly from him. He has the title in hand and it's currently on a non-op so there are no fees due. Please ask questions before you as this is a no-reserve auction. Thanks and good luck!

To answer a couple of questions, the odometer shows 51,515 and has likely turned over once. My friend was unable to locate any paperwork in his fathers home so we have no way to document the miles. They are in the process of moving everything out of the home so any paperwork that is found will be delivered with the car. The car is clean enough where you might think the miles are very low but with no paperwork we'll just assume they're not. Also, some have asked about the color. Some see red, some see orange. The factory paint code is "65" which is GM "Orange Flame". It's a great original color. Whoever repainted the car did a great job. Everything appears to have been removed before painting and it looks very nice. Thanks
