1958 Chevrolet Corvette

This is one of the more amazing pairs of cars you will ever see - a 1958 and 2008 Matching VIN Number pair of Corvettes! This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to buy something you may never see offered ever again. This is a matching SET of Corvettes, being sold together as a set. There are only TWO matching 58/08 sets ever made; this one is the only set that matches in body style, and the only red set.
TO BE CLEAR... The purchase price agreed upon for this auction is for 2 CARS - both the 1958 and 2008 Corvettes. They are being sold as a set. Ebay won't allow for the cars to be doubled up in one listing, so we had to list the four Corvettes in 4 separate listings (this is also a 1963/2013 matching VIN set for sale), even though they are being sold as two sets. When you go to purchase the set, you are agreeing on a price for that set of 2 cars. So the buy it now is for 2 cars, NOT double the buy it now. For simplicity, I would recommend when buying one of the sets of cars, giving your full offer on one of them and a dollar on the other. Ebay has worked with us to make this happen and make sure we don't split the sets up. Doing it in this format was the way they felt comfortable and still offers the buyers protection as well. It all started with the purchase of this 1958 Corvette. When the current owner wanted to build the car he had always wanted, he built this car. It is a beautiful restoration with no expense spared, in any way. As the 50th birthday of his prized Corvette came near, he realized he had the option to do something that very few people had ever done. Order a matching car, matching VIN and all, to go with his 58, and he did. Worth noting: one other matching VIN was built in 2008 to go with another car, but they do not match in bodystyle, only color, whereas these match in color and body style. The 2008 Corvette you see pictured here has never been on the street. After being ordered, the owner was able to watch it being built all the way down the line at the Corvette Plant in Bowling Green, KY. It was then delivered to the Tom Bannen Chevrolet dealership in Madison, TN, then trailered home, to be put away with its 58 counterpart. The 2008 has only 6 miles on the odometer, this car has never seen a public street. The mileage was put on it at the test track before delivery.
Both of these cars are stunning. Each is amazing in it's own right, but as a matching VIN set, wow. It's just unbelievable to see them together. That being said, let's look at some specifics of each car.
1958 Corvette Convertible (Removable Hardtop)
This car has had a fantastic restoration done on it. The paint is as beautiful as it appears in the pictures. Painted by the award winning Jonathan Shores. The chrome is amazing, the car was done right, piece by piece, with the right parts, by the right people, and it shows. The car started out life as a white car, built in April of 1958, in St. Louis, MO. The current owner always dreamed of a red 58, and when given the chance to buy this car, it needed restoration and was decided at that time to change the color to red. Everything else about the car retained all of its stock components for the restoration that was finished in 2001. It has it's 283CI 230HP with factory 4bbl Carter carburetor. It is one of only 2057 that came with the Power Glide Automatic transmission. The car is a factory radio delete, with the factory plate that came to fill its hole in the dash, kept with the car. As you see in the pictures, it does have a correct aftermarket 58 radio, but again, the delete plate is with the car (see pics in the trunk). The paint color it sports now is Corvette Signet Red. The owner has paperwork dating back to the beginning of the car, following it's history very closely, with copies of each title, and of course a large book of receipts from the restoration done to it. Worth noting: there is a dent in the bottom stainless trim on the windshield, and the owner has found an original replacement in fantastic condition to replace it. The car comes with the Edelbrock SS454 wheels you see on it, but also has the original set of wheels and hubcaps with it as well.
2008 Corvette Convertible
The 08 Vette is an amazing car and comes with the LS3 6.2 Liter with 430HP and a 6 speed paddle shift automatic transmission. It, of course, has the modern tech of things like active handling, traction control, 4 wheel independent suspension, and more to help it stay ahead on the road. It came with heated mirrors, and a full power folding top with heated rear glass. It also was ordered with the 3LT preferred equipment group - which bring the AM/FM/CD player/MP3 input/XM radio, up to a Bose premium 7 speaker sound system, heads up display, power telescoping wheel, heated leather seats, (power 6 way adjustable driver seat), steering wheel radio controls (leather wrapped steering wheel), and power convertible top. It also came standard with remote door and trunk, and an alarm as well. Other options include chrome wheels, and DVD navigation. All this and it's still basically a brand new 2008 Corvette!
Both cars run as they should with no issues and were just serviced this year.
