Description:
1993 Chevrolet Corvette Callaway SuperNatural 425
1993 Callaway SuperNatural™ 425 Corvette ConvertibleOffered for sale, is our 1993 Callaway SuperNatural™ 425 Corvette Convertible.
This car is in a word, amazing! One of two, 40th Anniversary Corvette convertibles drop-shipped from the Corvette assembly plant to Callaway in Connecticut, this car is serial #93-001. Yes, that is right, the very first of the 1993 Callaways and #001 of the two identical cars built that year, which became known as the “Texas Twins”.
Built by a Texas Oil Pioneer, he and his business partner wanted the very best Callaway had to offer as convertibles and each purchased one – they began by ordering their 40th Anniversary Corvettes with EVERY OPTION. I verified this with Keith Boi from the 40th Registry who told me that our car had ALL Corvette options for a convertible!
This car is a rare car to begin with, made even more rare by the fact it is a Callaway Corvette – and serial #001, at that!
From Chevrolet, our car was equipped with the triple-ruby 40th Anniversary option. From there, it had the following:• Optional factory hardtop• Optional FX3 Adjustable Suspension• Six-Speed Manual Transmission• …and so much more!
From Callaway, it had the following:• SuperNatural™ 425 Engine Option (383 cubic inch displacement engine with 425 horsepower)• Optl. Callaway AeroBody™ (By itself, The Callaway AeroBody is now an $18,900 option to have done today, PLUS paint/installation!)• Otpl. Center Exit Exhaust (BEST Exhaust note, ever! Motorweek TV STILL uses the clip of the CallawaySupernatural exhaust for their show, and the iconic exhaust note. It's that sweet!)• Optl. Bridgestone Runflat Wheel/Tire Package• Optl. Coilover Suspension
Subsequently, I added a pair of Callaway chrome valve covers (rare!) as a gift from my wife. She also purchased a matching ruby red flannel car cover, embroidered with Callaway 425. We also asked Callaway Cars to make a throttle body plate with SuperNatural™ 425 identified. They did make this special plate for us – it is installed on the car.
I've added a set of Bill Boudreaux ZF Doc Beam Plates which helped to eliminate "flex" in the driveline. Simple, yet amazing change. Also replaced both sides of the headlight bushings within the past few thousand miles (Articles on both detailed this with this car, as featured in Corvette Enthusiast Magazine).
This car has been well cared for and always garaged. We are the second owners of this car, as the title was still in the name of the oil business when we purchased this automobile in the fall of 2002.
We have personally owned four Callaways and have enjoyed this one very much. It is also owned by the Founding Director of the Callaway Owners Group, recognizing the significance of this car. I bought this car as a bookend to my Callaway Twin Turbo (RPO B2K) Corvette, as I wanted an AeroBody car to drive. This one checked ALL the boxes for me.
A few of the highlights of this car are as follows:• Displayed as a part of the 20-years of Callaway Corvettes exhibit at the National Corvette Museum (2007).• Displayed as a part of the Bloomington Gold Special Collection XX (2004 invitational) Eligible for the Bloomington Gold Hall of Fame.• Selected as a Corvettes at Carlisle Celebrity Pick (2003, by Keith Boi, Founder of the 40th Registry)• Feature car, Corvette Quarterly Magazine (when the car was first built, Chevrolet’s official publication followed the Texas Twins home from Connecticut).• Feature car, Vette Magazine (car was reviewed by the magazine in an extensive article).• Feature car, Corvette Enthusiast Magazine (car was reviewed by the magazine in an extensive article).• Feature car, Corvette Enthusiast Magazine (a part of “Son of Sledge, and the King” article)
We have put approximately 11,000 miles on the car since purchasing it in 2002. Most of these miles are to and from auto events however, several trips were made in an enclosed car hauler. When the car isn’t driven, it is garaged and covered, on a battery tender. The registration is current. The car currently has approximately 65,500 miles, which may change if driven for periodic exercise.
The dash plaque indicates “001” and “425” which is something Reeves Callaway did special for this car when built and not seen ony any other Callaway SuperNatural™ vehicles that I can recall…
A few years ago, we replaced the clutch assembly (at Callaway) and had other minor maintenance performed. This was done at the Old Lyme, CT facility in the fall of 2007.
This car is a piece of Callaway and Corvette history and should be considered a collectible vehicle and a part of any serious Corvette collection.
This is a rare chance to own such a car and may be your opportunity to add an amazing Callaway to your collection!
We are asking $44,900 and will entertain any serious and bona fide offers.____________________________________

Serial #93-001, this is the first 1993 Callaway SuperNatural Corvette built for 93, and one of the "Texas Twins" built for a pair of Texas oilmen, then featured in Corvette Quarterly Magazine as they were driven from Old Lyme, CT to Houston, TX by the new owners. Featuring many desirable options, including the Callaway AeroBody w/ center exit exhaust, coilover suspension, RunFlat wheels, and much more! This Callaway is in very good condition.
Garage kept, under a flannel cover which was tailor fit (literally, made by a fine suit tailor) in Ruby Red Flannel and embroidered with CALLAWAY 425 - cover is included, and one-of-a-kind.
***Will need tires due to their age (last replaced in 2002) and suspension bushings replaced (have the parts, and will install, if time. Otherwise, please factor 4 hours labor)***
Car is in the same beautiful condition as when I bought it in 2002. I bought in Houston TX and drove home to VA. Paint has deep luster. Some very light scratches and wear which are barely noticeable. Interior has light wear on carpet and trim, as to be expected w/ milage. CD Player & LTPWS Low Tire Pressure Warning System (2 of the sensors) inop. One (1) pwr. door lock sticks at times, and the cup holder door has a crack in the plastic, so it's left open. Absolutely none of which bothered me over 17+ years, and the car is in great condition, overall, aside from these slight details.
I will be available to assist in shipping the car on the car carrier you select. I have used Plycar for years and have never had any issue. They have been the BEST, and reasonable in their rates. I have sold cars from here to overseas and have great feedback.
Please note, the vehicle is available for pick-up once your payment clears. No sooner. I will release, once funds clear, period.
Going off memory, I am sure to have left out a few details and would be delighted to speak more about this car to any prospective buyer. Please contact for further details or additional information about this fine automobile.
The car is garaged 30 minute from IAD or DCA Airports near Northern Virginia. Or about 1 hour from BWI.
Buy now, and have in-time for Christmas. You may need a larger chimney and stocking, of just park outside next to your Christmas tree. Thank you for checking out this listing.

Two driving perspectives from other Corvette owners who have driven this very car, plus the report from a web editor's review:
Bob's Report:Wow, I'm surprised to see this car for sale!
I'll just say, I've driven this car a couple of years ago. It's as nice as the pictures and description suggest. But further, it was just a really easy car to drive. The engine was strong, but extremely docile. It idled and drove just like a stocker, but with more power. There were no trade-offs, no extra little things you had to be aware of, etc. Just a nice, strong, well sorted, easy to enjoy car.
It's exactly what you'd want in a convertible, and exactly what you'd expect from Callaway.
Joe's Report:I have driven this rare and special Callaway and she is sweet but with a POWERFUL punch! I love the color combo with the distinctive Callaway Aerobody. Truly a stunning work of rolling art. This Callaway has been in the best, caring hands since it was delivered new and would be a wonderful addition to your collection or a perfect way to start one!
And most recently from Steve, at the Website, CorvetteBlogger.com:
Not all superheroes wear capes and not all Callaways use forced induction. We sure do love our Callaways around here and this one is just another example of why.
