1970 Chevelle SS L34 396 Project Original Motor & Rear Axle Bucket Seats Console
1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396
Many Chevelle and Muscle Car Fans consider the 1970 Chevelle SS to be America’s favourite Muscle car and this is a recent find out of a garage in Ohio. This Project car is currently painted with the color Red with Black Stripes but Originally 58-58 Autumn Gold with Black Stripes if restored back to factory color. (See Last Photo)
Comes with the original born with assembly line motor stamped T0225CTW (February 25 1970) 396 350 HP L34 Automatic (Standard Bore) Partial VIN stamp is still on the rough cast area by the oil filter, Transmission has NO Tag or VIN stamp so I do not think it is original to the car, Rear axle is the born with assembly line unit stamped CCW0226B1 3.31 12 bolt open axle February 26 1970 Buffalo first shift.
Scheduled build date of this car is 03D on the cowl tag which is the fourth week of March 1970, Being a Flint Michigan built SS after the strike earlier that year there is NO Build sheet in the car which is normal for a Flint built Chevelle, owner recently found a paper behind the drivers front bucket seat in the rear cover panel. Factory Options Include >>> A51 Bucket Seats, D55 Center Console, L34 396 350 HP Motor, M40 Automatic Transmission, N40 Power Steering, U14 Gauges, ZK9 Auxiliary Lighting Group, ZL2 Cowl Induction and the Z25 SS 396 Package.
Car also has the Original Radiator with Tag and Clip, Original 9391 Brake Booster, Original Power Steering pump.Frame on the car is solid with NO issues. All five SS rims do match the car with original Uniroyal Tiger Paw tire/spare rim in the trunk. Car comes with many spare parts as well.
Rear Trunk lid is an incorrect 71-72 Piece, trunk floor was holes and some rust issues, some body panels will need new skins or patches.
