1971 Chevrolet Longhorn

This truck is one of only 1,479 C30 fleet-side Longhorns built for the 1971 model year. 8 and 1/2 foot bed.

It was originally sold and lived it`s whole life in dry California Desert. It has all original factory metal, 99% rust and rot free, has had a repaint in the early 80`s, was stored inside and off the road since 1986. Which is why the metal is in such great condition. I purchased this Longhorn from the original owner in the fall of 2016 when I personally removed it from the storage garage where it had been setting for the past thirty years in Indio CA.

The truck underwent a complete mechanical and interior restoration with upgrades. Upgrades are as follows: It is an original Air Condition truck which has been updated with much more efficient and reliable Vintage Air A/C & heating system. It has also had Electronic Fuel Injection system added (EFI). There has been a Retro Sound Stereo with Bluetooth, hands free, and USB connections installed. Better quality speakers have also been installed at the kick panels. The instrument dash panel has also been updated with a Dakota Digital Dash Display. Seatbelts have also been replaced with and upgrade to safer three point shoulder belts they appear and look period correct in color and with GM logo.

The engine was overhauled professionally. It was bored to only .030 and the crank is .010/.010 on the rods and mains. The heads where done with all new valves, seats, springs, and guides. 2.02 intake and 1.64 exhaust. Hypereutectic pistons where used. All quality name brand parts where used in the assembly of this engine. Have all receipts and pictures of the build. The Transmission was overhauled and with updated sprags, new torque convertor, front pump, all new bushings & bearings, Seals, and Raybestos clutches. The differential was cleaned, inspected, and resealed. New U-joints installed on balanced drive shaft. Every component in the brake system has been replaced and the hard metal brake lines where cleaned and flushed out. The Steering gear was rebuild along with new power steering pump and hoses. Complete new exhaust from the headers to the end of the tail-pipe installed. Complete new cooling system was installed to include Heavy Duty 4 core radiator, Fan clutch, water pump, hoses, and thermostat. New gear reduction starter was installed along with new internally regulated alternator. New wheels and tires where installed at the time. The interior was completely stripped and redone inside. New upholstery on the seat, new carpet, heat and sound deadener under carpet and at the firewall. All new door weather-stripping was installed along with all the new window seals. The truck currently has the smaller sport mirrors not the big camper mirrors. The woodbed was completely redone and the sides are Raptor lined green.

We honestly have in parts alone well over $20,000 in this truck with all the receipts and pictures. The tuck was completed in the spring of 2017 and has just over 6,000 miles on it since then.
