1955 Chevy Chopped Top Gasser Clone in process I have a Vintage 1955 Chevy Chopped Top Gasser (want a be) in process with many parts.
Started with a 2 door Del Ray Chevy sedan (post) bod, chopped the top 3" with a sunken full size windshield (very cool), rear glass area has been modified to now have a smaller square back glass with the rear side window openings look "Z'd" like a 1954 Bel Air Chevy style, Body is mounted on a complete 1974 Chevy Monte Carlo Rolling Chassis, with complete metal floor pan and metal interior, the 55 rocker panels attach to the Monte's rocker panel, 55 is about 10+ wider than the Monte : Now Here is the cool part of using the Monte Carlo Chassis, in the 1970's GM has all that massive Bumpers and energy absorbers shocks mounted on the front end of the car (weighted a ton) with all that removed and the light 55 body mounted on the chassis the front end looks like a Gasser in the front, there is lot's of space from the top of the tires and the lower edge of the wheel well, making it look like a Gasser (cool idea, you have the look of a straight axle but have an A frame suspension for a better driving experience on the highway). Featuring: Full stock size Monte Carlo gas tank, factory power steering, factory front disc brakes, I put my IMCA Modified Chevy 350 V8 with a 3 Speed Automatic Tran, Aluminum High rise Intake, 3310 Holley 4 barrel carb with Very Special Factory Steel Tube Headers (first pair I have ever seen). all steel front end (hood, fenders (need capping), grille opening with radiator support sheet metal etc, NEW Aluminum Radiator, Full Stainless Steel Trim for the car, Tilt Steering Wheel with Special 2 piece Chevy Corvette Wood Steering Wheel (the high dollar one) with correct wheel adapter and horn button kit, all the window trim, inside and outside. I even bought personnel license plate, instead of GASSE, I bought "GA55ER" for the car before I put it in storage. NOTE: THE CHROME CRAGER SS FRONT WHEELS & TIRES DO GO WITH CAR, But Coke Bottle (SP200) Mag wheels in ist picture are NOT with car. they have been sold sorry.
