1960 Chevrolet Corvette 283/290hp Fuelie

In the classic car world, and in regards to vintage Corvettes in particular, it has become quite hard to find an investment-grade example that has all of the right stuff, w/ all of the important boxes checked. It can become a long and grueling search to find the right place to park your money so to speak. The idea is to find a car that has a no-hit, no damage original fiberglass body, an all original numbers matching driveline, a correct top-quality restoration, and of course provenance to boot. Well, I can safely say that I have not been this excited in a very long time about listing a classic car, as this one simply has it all!
‘Red Hills Rods & Classics’ is very proud to offer you this absolutely gorgeous, frame-off restored, all numbers matching 1960 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible 283/290hp Fuelie! This is a very special Corvette folks! She left the factory in the third week of June, 1960, and was optioned out just right, including: Roman Red Exterior, Red Vinyl Interior, Black Vinyl Soft-Top, 283/290hp Fuel-Injected Motor, Borg-Warner T-10 4-Speed Transmission, 4:11 Positraction Rear-End, Off-Road Exhaust System, Metallic Brakes, Heater Delete, Radio Delete, Dog-Dish Hubcaps, and Firestone 6.70 x 15 Black-Wall Tires. The gentleman who ordered this particular Corvette knew exactly what he wanted and he did it right! This 52,000 original-mile Corvette was in excellent condition before she underwent a meticulous nut & bolt body-off restoration w/ no expense spared & no corners cut. The final result is nothing short of breathtaking. The original fiberglass body & frame showed absolutely no signs of previous damage or repair, which made the overall restoration much easier. The body is laser straight all the way around the car, and the factory correct Roman Red paint has a brilliant shine & depth that is second to none. All of the chrome, including the grille & bumpers, are in show-quality condition, all of the stainless steel trim is smooth & shiny throughout, and the correct T3 headlights light up the road up front. She has just the right stance, sitting on the original 15” steel wheels w/ dog-dish hubcaps, wrapped in Firestone 6.70 x 15 black-wall tires, just like she did 58 years ago. She is absolute eye-candy from every possible angle. The undercarriage/chassis is factory correct & highly detailed throughout, and ready for any national level judging event that you decide to enter.
Open the driver’s door and you will find a gorgeous 100% factory correct red vinyl interior that leaves nothing to be desired whatsoever. Everything is ‘factory fresh’ from front to back and appears exactly as it did back in 1960. All of the original gauges, lights, blinkers, etc. are in perfect working condition, and even the original lighter pops out hot! The red vinyl seats, dash, steering wheel, shifter, carpeting, seat-belts, etc., show ‘as new’ and are simply as fine as it gets. The trunk area is as perfect as the interior and 100% complete, w/ original jack assembly & tools, as well as the correct Firestone spare wheel/tire tucked underneath. Please look closely at the photos to see how impeccable this Corvette truly is.
Now, let’s get to the good stuff, shall we?
Open the hood and nestled inside the beautifully detailed engine bay you will find the original numbers matching 283/290hp fuel-injected motor, linked to the original Borg-Warner T-10 4-speed transmission, which feeds power to the original asphalt-shredding 4:10 Positraction rear axle.
