ZL1Camaro Power for Your Hot Rod!

ChevroletPerformance's LSA 6.2L supercharged crate engine is an increasingly popularchoice for hot rod builders, thanks to its great balance of performance andvalue. For 2016, they have updated the LSA package with the production variantfrom the fifth-generation Camaro ZL1 featuring 556 horsepower and 551 lb.-ft.of torque. The ZL1-based assembly also has different intercooler assembly withrepositioned coolant inlet and outlet ports, which makes installation easierfor many retro-fit applications.

Whathasn't changed are the core components that made the original engine tough andrefined, including a unique aluminum cylinder block casting that's home to aforged steel crankshaft and super-tough reciprocating parts, and integratedpiston-cooling oil jets. It also features high-flow cylinder heads that supportthe airflow pushed by a 1.9L Eaton TVS supercharger.

ThisZL1 supercharged crate engine package comes fully dressed, from the top of thecharge- cooled supercharger assembly to the ignition system, water pump, balancer and more. It also includes an 8-bolt crankshaft flange that mayrequire an adapter for use with some transmissions. Use with LSA ControllerKit, p/n 809-19259293.

1969Camaro Convertible / Body Shell - From Dynacorn 1828 E University, Suite 8

Tempe,AZ 85281

Fromthe leading manufacturer since 2006 of the finest reproduction parts in theautomotive industry, comes the Camaro convertible and coupe replacement bodyshell. The famous 1967 and 1969 Camaro are available in both convertible andcoupe and has been manufactured to exact OEM specifications.

Eachbody shell is a Licensed GM restoration part completely welded from thefirewall to the tail lamp panel and from the frame rails to the windshieldframe. Both Shells come with doors and deck lids installed and the convertiblecomes with the convertible top frame.

DYNACORNBODY INFORMATION

TheDynacorn body shells are complete with shock towers and core supports alreadywelded in. The shells are unfinished and will require seem finishing and properfitting of panels, but come EDP coated for rust prevention. The body shells areespecially nice since modern technology allows Dynacorn to assemble the shellsto exacting tolerances and the sheet metal and welds are far superior to 1960'sstandards. The Camaro shells are available

JimBarber and Doug Harris, founders and co-owners of CARS, didn't enroll in thebusted- knuckle, learn-as-you-go school of car crafting. They went theengineer-with-a-degree, high- technology route, and after years of toiling in acorporate manufacturing and engineering environment, decided they were moreideally suited building the classic cars they owned and lusted after in theiryouth. Notice the word rather than? This is the reason why enthusiasts andaficionados of First-Generation Camaros are flocking to this restorationoutpost--because CARS is the first company with the necessary jigs to assembleDynacorn's new all-steel 1969 Camaro body components

Unlikecompanies who produce replacement body panels, Dynacorn has created the unibodystructure upon which the sheet metal is hung. But as CARS' Harris related,"We know our cars are going to be driven, so we've engineered them as youwould if you were the manufacturer assembling the original vehicle. Knowingmost Camaro owners are drivers and not collectors, these cars are destined tosee street duty, and for some even as daily drivers." Amidst therestorations and rods being built at CARS is a dedicated area where the buyer'scomponents can be assembled for them at their request.

"Mostof the replacement panels available today for the early Camaros were intendedto be grafted to the original shell, and to use in making repairs. So when itcame to using them to fit Dynacorn's unibody, they "weren't evenclose," Barber said. "With OEM-spec manufacturing tolerances,Dynacorn had no choice but to make their own panels. This is a major reason whytheir completed cars will be as tight as if they rolled off the assembly linein Van Nuys in '69." It makes sense then that same robot welders used inassembly plants the world over are also found at Barber's shop, to duplicatethe thousands of welds needed to solidify the structure and make them one.

Hereis a wonderful 1969 Camaro "Restomod" that has been built with performancemodifications and modern technology not only for performance, but improvedmileage and enjoyable cruising without fatigue. The intent was to provide allthe style and class of a vintage Camaro cruiser with the more modernperformance, handling, and drive ability we expect from today's vehicles. Somecall these vehicles "restomods"; being vehicles built/restored withas much integrity owing to the vintage of the vehicle but with some of thefeatures we have come to not only enjoy, but expect with the vehicles we driveeveryday.

Areyou beginning to see our point about alternative restomods? It teaches us totake another look at these vehicles with a different respecting view.

Theonly way to replace it would be to build another one from scratch.

Showme a better one?
