1990 Chevrolet Camaro Iroc-Z

This low-mileage car (35,319 Actual) is in very nice factory collector condition with the only non-factory items being the mufflers, battery, and tires. This car looks and drives as new with very little evidence that it is 29 years old. I bought this car because it is similar to the car I drove in high school. It came to me from the West Coast and has moderately low mileage and is in great condition. I have owned this car for 8 years and have mixed feelings about selling it, but I have come to enjoy older cars that I can tinker with and would like to make a space. Many of you know that Camaro convertibles from this era are fairly rare; especially the IROC's. You can own this car and drive it with very little difference to the convenience and reliability of a modern car; but it is a lot cooler.
The paint is almost entirely original and in excellent condition. As these cars often did, the paint on the hood would chip easily from rocks thrown up on the road. To make the hood appear as nice as the rest of the car, I had an expert painter to paint only the hood and the two wedges behind the rear tires and he was able to match it perfectly with the fenders so we did not have to blend. There is only one small blemish (ding) on the car, which is on the passenger fender in front of the door. I included a picture of it. It is so small that I had a hard time adjusting the camera so that you could see it in a picture. The metal rims around the fog lights are slightly oxidized as well. This is very difficult to notice.
The interior is very nice. I believe there is a very small pick in the left side back of the driver's seat and the metal around the cigarette lighter in the dash is slightly oxidized. Other than that, the interior is as flawless as you could possibly expect. The gauges, AC, heat, and radio all work, with the exception of a buzz in the right rear speaker, which probably needs to be replaced from age. There are no warning lights or engine lights illuminated on the dash, and there have not been in the past 8 years while I have owned the car.
The top and the workings of the top all function as they should. The top does not have any rips or tears and only the window shows any evidence of age. The window is a little hazy, but it is not objectionable and does not take away from the car in my opinion.
The engine compartment is in amazing condition for the age of the vehicle. It shows very well. Even the undercarriage has very little patina because the car spent its first 21 years in CA and AZ and has been kept climate controlled since. You can see from the pictures what good condition the catalytic converter and underside of the car are in. The car has the factory red oxide primer, some factory red overspray, and some strategically placed factory sound deadener. The car does not have any fluid leaks that I am aware of; I have not seen anything on the floor under the car. The trunk is nice as well, with the original jacking sticker and the electric latch works as it should also.
The car drives very nicely and is very much like driving a modern car. One of the only non OE items on the car, the mufflers, give the car a good, deep throaty rumble and are not overly loud or obnoxious.
