Low mileage low owners rare SS Z85 package
1994 Chevrolet S-10 SS Z85
Chevy has been making pickup trucks since the '30s and when you make a gazillion of them, well that's no small amount of practice. Made to withstand all the punishment that a commercial vehicle needs to tolerate, this 1994 Chevrolet S-10 SS Z85 pickup appears to have led a very pampered existence. There may not be a nicer one on the market right one, especially one spec'd this way from the factory, leading us to wonder if it's time for... the S-10 to become a genuine collector vehicle. With a great look, reliable Vortec V6 power, and remarkable originality, this low-mileage (41,025 actual miles to be exact) survivor deserves your full attention. It's been dubbed "resale" red for a reason, as year in and out red is always one of the top color choices when you want to impress. Apple Red is the official name of the shade, and it was only one of three choices that you got in an S-10 SS in 1994, and we think it's hands-down the best hue. Combined with the regular cab, fleetside bed, and period-correct graphics and decals, the truck has a sporty demeanor and a great look. It remains in outstanding condition for being more than 25 years old, and the shiny paint has weathered the years far better than most GM products of the era, needing nothing more than a buff to really look great. There are no notable blemishes, no major road rash, just a few signs of use here and there, and it's obvious that someone really loved this truck. There was never a great deal of chrome fitted to S-10s to begin with, and when the truck was completely redesigned for the 1994 year it was all but replaced in favor of painted trim and rubber accessories, and what is there remains in great condition, including the black mirrors, door handles, and rubber step plates on the rear bumper. Few trucks wear the fleetside bed better than the S-10, and we would happily take the added space over its stepside cousin every time, because even for a "mini-truck", the rubber-mat protected bed can haul some serious material if you want it to. Slip inside and have a seat. Twin captain's chairs make this a first-class way to haul your gear and the gray cloth upholstery looks immaculately maintained. Because this is an SS it is optioned with several creature comforts, including air conditioning which still blows ice cold, plus a Delco AM/FM/Cassette stereo, ABS, cruise control, power windows and locks, a driver's airbag, and a tilt wheel are all at your fingertips, further blurring the line between blue and white collar transportation. And we haven't forgotten that this is a truck with a higher payload capacity with the factory Z85 spec, and power steering and power front disc brakes make it all manageable. The dash pad isn't cracked, the carpets are protected by heavy-duty GM mats, and the center armrest and dual cup holders just ahead are nice comfort features for the frequent driver. As you'd expect with those super low miles, the interior is in great shape, but it's extra special to find an S-10 this clean because these trucks were so often ragged out back in the day, but this little red beauty escaped that fate and it wears it's fantastic condition with great pride today. Open the hood and inspect the nicely detailed engine bay that looks pretty much exactly like it did 25 years ago. This S-10 is equipped with a 4.3L Vortec V6, a very powerful motor for the era rate at 180HP and 245 foot-lbs of torque. There are plenty of aftermarket performance enhancements for those of you that like to modify your ride's performance, thanks to the longevity and the multi -model placement of this motor. Still, more than enough power available if you choose to leave the motor bone stock like this one, which looks like it just rolled out of the showroom. The 4-speed automatic transmission is also performing without complaint and there isn't a better transmission available to mate to the Vortec; after all, nobody really wants a manual transmission in their truck, do they? Have a look at the super clean undercarriage, where you'll find no secrets, thanks to a lifetime of easy-living, and again, it offers more proof of this truck's remarkable low mileage promise. Factory wheels add some flash to the red pickup, endowing it with a sporty demeanor, and it carries 235/70/15 Mastercraft white-letter radials all around, perhaps only the second set of tires this truck has ever worn. Is this the nicest 1994 S-10 on the market right now? I wouldn't bet against it! Call today!
