I am selling this 1980 Chevrolet MONZA Hatchback w/ 37,130 original miles. I really wanted to keep it but I have 13 projects in the wings. I am the 3rd owner as far as I can tell. It was sold new in Rapid City, SD and then to a family in Chadron, NE in 1983 (see paperwork pics). It has had 1 repaint in original white color (not exactly sure when but invoice in 1983 says "as is w/ hail damage). You can see about 7 spots on the deck lid below the louvers where the feather sanding of the dings below the new white paint is showing, but light has to be just right to see them. I cannot see any such feather sand spots on the hood or roof, so not sure if hail hit at angle and roof got less hits or what? NO rust in the car at all. It has the IRON DUKE 2.5 liter cast iron 4 cylinder engine, 2 barrel stock carb, 4 speed manual transmission, power steering and factory A/C. Manual disc brakes in front w/ drums in back. Tires are 90% new and are P185/80r/13 w/ stock rims and white hubcaps w 4" on 4 pattern. It has the original fill tube and donut style spare tire never put on ground. It runs really nice, idles good, and shifts super smooth and stops great. The glass is original and near MINT. There is a hail ding in upper windshield trim in the center. The pass rear tail light housing has 2 dings in it (see close up pic) and amber lens has a crack along the base of it. I do see these on Ebay. The A/C runs but does not cool, I have not diagnosed what it needs, but maybe a recharge w R-12?The headliner is starting to come loose from underlayment above drivers head area. You may be able to take off trim piece and re-glue it up in this small area but its not hanging on your head or anything. The carpet is like new, the dash is like new, all interior plastic is like new. This car was always indoors or the sun would have trashed the inside for sure. I have the BUILD SHEET, original owners manual, shop manual, original dealer invoice from Rapid Chevrolet in Rapid City, the sales receipt from Reids of Chadron, and all the other original paperwork in the dealer folder. Also is a 1988 Epcot Center brochure from a road trip to Florida. It has a KRACO cassette player w/ brochure.....it works great ! Also is the showroom color brochure for the MONZA and a rare DEALER POSTER of the 1980 Monza 2+2 in a silver metal frame (20" by 34"). I will be gone from emails from Friday Sept 6 to Sun Sept 8 but will get back to you asap. I need paid in full w/in 3 days of auction end by bank wire transfer only. I can be here to help load car but buyer is TOTALLY RESPONSIBLE for arranging shipping. Semi trucks can get to my door no problem. Car is indoors in Encampment WY, just 3.5 hrs northwest of Denver, CO zip 82325. Come test drive it if you want to. Thanks. |
