Pictured is my freshly restored, numbers matching, date code correct, turnkey, 1966 427 L-72 big block, 2 top Corvette roadster.It is a very early '66 car (698).It was built in early September of 1965.Being so early in production it is known as a L-72 450 horsepower car.Later production cars were rated at a lower 425 hp.In addition to being an early 450 horsepower big block car, it has many rareoriginalfactory options:power brakes, power windows, telescoping steering column, teakwood steering wheel, leather seats, one year only color, soft top and matching removable hardtop.The side pipes were added by the 2nd owner.

I am the 3rd owner and I have personally $pent the last 2 years restoring it.Everything works on the car, it is beautiful and it drives better than a dream. The original owner protection plan booklet that came with the car is included and shows the name of the original purchaser, the vehicle delivery date, the vehicle number, the original color code, transmission code, carburetor code, engine block stamping number, original rear end code and the original key code numbers.It is very important to have this original paperwork that documents the cars originality.

Transmission: original Muncie - new clutch and pressure plate on the freshly turned flywheel allwork flawlessly

The engine was totally rebuilt withALLnew internals, and reinstalled in May of 2019.It now has approximately 600 trouble free miles and has been changed over to synthetic oil.It runs super strong with excellent oil pressure, no overheating or any other issue you might think of.

BODY

All original fiberglass including the front end, no accidents and never had fender flares.It was prepped and repainted the original Mosport Green color in the summer of 2018.In addition to the new paint are new bumpers, tail light assemblies, front signal assemblies, gas door, tinted windshield, body weather stripping, electric radio antennae, fuel tank and sender, headlights and harness.Both original horns were professionally restored, both vent window glasses, both side window glasses and both wiper arms are all original, very nice original side pipe covers, excellent condition original spare tire tub, excellent condition matching original removable hardtop with all new weather stripping and an excellent condition white convertible top with all new weather stripping.

INTERIOR

Original dark greencolorinterior with mint condition dash pads, excellent leather seat covers, excellent door panels, new carpeting, dash cluster is totally original, all the original gauges work, radio works, new quartz movement in the clock, telescopic steering column, new metal face on original glove box door, original seat belts, original sun visors, original rear view mirror, original ignition key, very nice original shifter console, all knobs and handles excellent, tire jack in rear compartment.

SUSPENSION

All new calipers, rotors, brake pads, brake booster, rear spring, complete rear trailing arm assemblies, bushings in front and rear sway bars, front inner and outer wheel bearings, all 6 U- joints, all 4 shocks, 5 new radial tires on 5 original steel wheels, 4 excellent original hub caps, the frame side rails are excellent including near the rear wheels.

Let me repeat for any Corvette seeking skeptics that have only found disappointing cars up until today: this highly optioned, very desirable, well detailed, 1966 L-72 427 big block Corvette 2 top roadster is in excellent, sorted out, turn key condition. The car is beautiful, runs fantastic, and drives extremely well. The combination of options, quality and freshness of the build cannot be bought for less money.
