1986 Chevrolet El Camino --
These final-generation El Caminos had one of the sleekest styles of all the generations. So to find a 1986 Chevrolet El Camino that combines this appeal with V8 power, a loaded interior, and a sophisticated color theme makes it a terrific affordable classic. Thanks to the handsome two-tone paint, this El Camino looks like a far more expensive vehicle than it is. The two-tone dark claret and light silver combo looks period-correct, but you'll notice a nice added... shine from the quality respray. These final generation El Caminos have a particularly sleek and sporty design with a hint of classic style (the smooth roof is even a bit reminiscent of the three-window coupes from the '30s.) Everywhere you look on this one, it has the right look of premium flair. There's a bold red, silver, and black pinstripe package all around the vehicle that neatly provides a dividing line for the two-tone. Wraparound silver upper pinstriping highlights the stylish sheetmetal in a premium way. We love the taillight inset in the rear bumper. It's all part of a car-like style you don't get on other small pickups. And while the bed looks great, the rubber mat is there to make sure it stays that way if you ever use this El Camino as a true pickup. There's even a proper tow hitch. The loaded interior once again reminds you that this is a truck with sedan-levels of comfort. The plush cloth seating has a nice burgundy finish that coordinates with the exterior paint. You can choose to seat three across or fold down the armrest for individual comfort for two. There are nice factory features, like power windows and a tilt steering column that helps give you a clear view to the factory gauges. Plus, there are plenty of great upgrades, like the AM/FM/cassette/CD stereo, subwoofer speakers behind the seats, cup holders, and cold-blowing R134a air conditioning. Under the hood is proper Chevy V8 power, and just like the rest of this El Camino, it has a premium upgrade. This is fresher 350 cubic-inch crate motor installed in 2015 (and about 4k miles on it since then.) Topped with a four-barrel carburetor, it runs smooth and provides proper power. This is truly setup to be an easy all-day cruiser with features such power steering, power brakes w/discs up front, and a four-speed automatic transmission with highway-friendly overdrive. Complete with owner's manual and original warranty card, this is a well-presented final-generation El Camino that's available today at a value price.
